Prince is, more likely than not, straight.
What I don't get is people who rabidly insist that he is. So he's probably straight. So what? Why does it matter to you so much that he likes pussy better than cock? "A Watcher scoffs at gravity!"

Diamonds and Pearls is not only about Prince and his woman, but about worldly love. The lyrics reflect the war that was going on at the time, even if they don't refer 2 it directly, especially the 2nd verse. In the chorus, he's basically saying that 2 make all the boys and girls of the world happy, he'd give them diamonds and pearls and the desires of their hearts. But since he can't, the greatest, most valuable thing he can give is love. Not a sexual love, but brotherly love, or a Godly unconditional love...

Prince -- perhaps as much as Little Richard in his prime -- is one of few entertainers I can think of who so blatantly used androgyny as a gimmick (particular during his peak in the 1980s). Sure, there was Boy George, but we all knew he was gay.
Prince's whole thing has been looking like a woman (or, at least, a bearded woman) while trying to seduce women. He attended premieres and other public events with models and actresses. His songs were about obsessive relationships with women or having unrequited love for them. He stands as a man -- perhaps more so than other men -- obsessed with women. But, he also made himself up to look like a woman, which very implicitly forces people -- fans or no -- to confront our views of him and of the sexuality his look suggests contrasted by the sexuality his songs declared. After all, come on, he just recently stopped wearing women's clothing (but, he's clingin' to dem heels...) I think these are some of the main reason people obsess over his sexuality: For decades, he was equally obsessed and apparently more than a little confused.

ThreadBare said: After all, come on, he just recently stopped wearing women's clothing (but, he's clingin' to dem heels...) I never considered the clothes the Prince wore "women's" clothing. Since he has his clothing personally made, that would make them "Prince" clothing. Clothing that the average probably wouldn't wear, but just because of that fact doesn't make them 4 women. Same thing with his boots. They are specially made 4 Prince, therefore making them boots 4 a man, not a women.

When he's put on tons of eyeliner, blush and all that other stuff, was it man's makeup? Don't recall it being sold at Sears near the overalls and power tools... He's always worn clothing that women would usually wear. At the very least, even his "unisex" clothes (say, his jeans from Little Red Corvette video) had effeminate touches (buttons down the legs) or tailoring. Consider this: Take a few outfits from fairly notable periods in Prince's career. * The black sequined outfit from the Oscars where he won for Purple Rain. (Yes, the one with the shawl...) Heck, most of his outfits from that period... women's clothing * The Raspberry Beret outfit (I ain't got nothin' against clouds, mind you...) women's clothing * Most of his outfits from Parade, Batman and TRC, I'll grant ya: men's clothing * His Diamonds- and Symbol-era stuff? women's clothing * Lovesexy outfits ... women's clothing * His TMBGITW outfit? women's clothing Bottom line: Take the bulk of the outfits Prince has worn during his career, and put them in a (OK, pricey) department store, in whose section will you find them? The women's.

The women's. Well, as far as the make-up goes, I;ll give U that one, because yea, it was made 4 women. But with everything else, like I said, just because the majority of men wouldn't wear it, doesn't make it 4 a woman. If he went 2 the women's section of a store and bought it, then U'd have something. But since the 80s, he has had his own personal clothing stylist. He designs the outfits himself, with HIMself in mind, there4 making them clothes 4 a man...a man named Prince...THAT MAN'S CLOTHING!! (that the average male wouldn't wear!!)
