Glam Slam Video (Your thoughts) Sup. VH-1 Classic just played Glam Slam along with Controversy for thier Tuesday Twoplay. (It will re-air two more times today.)
What do you all think of the video? I wish it wasn't missing the 3rd verse. Sun is risin moon is gone soda fizzin on the lawn. This was the same version given to radio but still, the video is hella-short. Silence Speaks A Thousand Words.

It seemed to work well with the music and the fact Prince appeared to be using the senses other than sight to find opposite. Cool video. Wish I could find it somewhere.

i just saw this video for the first time a few weeks ago. It made me appreciate the song more (never a big fan of the tune itself except for the ending). Great dancing and visuals. I really liked it.

I knew a person back in college that went to school with one of the violin players in the background. I think there was some radio contest (through KDWB?) where you could win a chance to be in one of his videos, and she ended up winning one of the spots. NCC2012... your local Trekkie. =/\=

Prince in fact is just a very very good performer, maybe the best in the world. When it comes to making videos he certainly is not the best. He once even stated that he didn't like making videos. That's not him at all. He's much more rock 'n roll, instead of being R'nB to me. He's just the audience teaser he likes to be, and one hell of a great live performer on every instrument he touches.
As i come to think of it, he's not that much of a great album producer either. Well in fact he made GREAT albums. So don't get me wrong. (most of the artists out there nowadays aren't good albums makers. They just fill up every space with too much sound anyway. He's a very good craftsman when it comes to write songs, but putting an album together.. i dunno. I'm not saying he makes bad albums, not at all. But most of 'm are not all that great assembled. But still on most albums there are great tunes, and well written songs. Still he made classic assembled albums like Parade, Dirty Mind, Lovesexy and Sign 'O' The Times (which works actually fine for me). When it comes to video making... he should've alwyas left it to the idea's of the makers. I mean, prince always involves in everything, and sometimes it works, but most of the time it's not good at all. Most of his videos are performance video's anyway. For instance the ones i really dislike are the 'My Name Is Prince' and the whole D&P era clips. They suck big time. As well as everything that came behind it up till now. The only performace video that amused me is Party Man. I dunno,in away it sometimes is funny, and you cansee that he really amuses himself. But Eventhe Pruple Rain videos are not all that great. Andthe dancing - hoppin' around video's of the first three albums are more or less dated, and there for fun to watch. Anyway, he's a perfomer you have to see live rather then on DVD or a videoclip i think, and he will do this till the end of his days.. that's what gives him all the energy he has. much more than anything else.

I really like this video but there is one part that really makes me laugh. When they cut to the audience there is a closeup of this fat dude who looks like a stockbrocker and he's jamming to the song by twirling his arms. [This message was edited Wed Dec 10 11:23:25 PST 2003 by automatic]
