Hall of Fame

Can Prince and the Revolution be nominated for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in a few years when 1999 has been out 25 years? I think that's the first time an album came out by that group. It's sort of like how Neil Young is in three times, as solo artist and as part of two other bands.
Just wondering. Any thoughts?

I believe 1999 was technically a "Prince" release. Backwards message notwithstanding. Revolution didn't really start getting credit till Purple Rain.

Regardless, they probably wouldn't get in. Rightly or wrongly, the Revolution is viewed as Prince's back up band more than a real group effort like The Beatles.
