With Last December, Prince is stressing how the unknown certainly of our dying day is the monkey we all carry on our backs.

The unquenchable human thirst for 'Truth' can lead some of the more questioning types among us to a wide open space in our mindsets where only one choice awaits - build spiritual bridges in this physical form in anticipation of the hereafter or accept there is nothing more to this reality than your present existance.

With Last December's chorus, Prince is firmly confessing the conclusion he has finally reached - "In the name of the Father, In the name of the Son, We got to come together, Come together as one."

In so doing, he juxtaposes the spirituality of the verses with the grand religious gesture of the chorus - offsetting the balance in much the same way he used to coinfuse sex and love in his 80s lyrics.

The song asks if your dying day came today:

What did you do?
What did you achieve?
Who did you love?
How did you love?
Why did you love?
Do you know what love is?

The lyrics demand we re-evaluate our lives, loves and achievements through the eternal, forever open eyes of Jehovah.
It poses the question of where the individual belongs in the grand scheme of things.
It boldly enquires the ultimate questions and also provides prince's own solid, definitive answer - where in the past all there has been is clouded notions and half-hearted proclamations of belief.

Prince has a spade and he likes to dig.

It's simply a segment from "Muse 2 The Pharaoh" cut and
pasted into that part of the song. It has been slightly
altered to sound kind of "flowy" as if it's been washed
through water [wtf?].

It's clearly audible "If she...could be muse...2 the
pha...raoh".

I can't remember if there's also a part of another song
from the album in there, but it's most def not those lines
posted above.
