The Gold Experience -- Limited/Numbered

Anyone have info about a limited edition, numbered 2 disc pressing (vinyl) of TGE?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eB...osedWinner

Is this for real? If not, it sure is a great fake!

Thanks, and sorry if this has been dealt with before..

"This exclusive item is from the long OUT OF PRINT . Technically his last album for Warner Brothers (and arguablly one of his most prolific)"

Does that even make sense? how can an album be prolific? lol

This is vinyl, right? It makes sense that it would be two records.

I'm not sure if it has been raised here before.

It's Warners / NPG: PRO-A-7835

A copy (# 2734) apparently being offered for sale on alt.music.prince in 1996

Another from well known source in collector circles offered one in 2001, matching the description here.

There appears to be a copy on sale at Esprit currently:

PRINCE The Gold Experience (US promo GOLD vinyl 2-LP incl I Hate You The Remixes on side 4 with 5 versions, numbered sleeve PRO-A-7835)

£64.99, US$110.55

There's one apparently on sale at the Music Express website:

"THE GOLD EXPERIENCE"
(NPG/Warner PRO-A-7835)
PROMO-ONLY 2-LP SET PRESSED ON GOLD VINYL, INDIVIDUALLY NUMBERED WITH LARGE TITLE STICKERS (NM/NM) $60

.

I think you're referring to the Gold Single in the gold box, with a gold disc, which I happen to have. Found it in a used cd store for $6.00 I think.

And it's not that rare. I think madhouse sells it for 11 or 12 bucks

DaysofWild

I have a copy of this limited / numbered album.

It is Warners / NPG PRO-A-7835

The brown cardboard sleeve has a Gold Experience / prince sticker on the front and is numbered.

The back of the sleeve has a gold sticker with an article written by Jim Walsh, Pop Music Critic, St. Paul Pioneer Press from January of 1995 praising Prince live performances and the Gold Experience.
