if 'carmen electra: driven' is accurate.

now wait. before you jump down my throat about how she would be nobody if it wasn't for prince and how she should be thankful for the experience, yada yada yada, let me say that none of the show came from her mouth. it was from this close friend and that great pal and etc. but what i heard (and kind of believe) was really sad.

now, they said carmen had to be in full make up and hair all the time just in case prince were to stop by. she would sleep in her clothes and pumps so she would be ready at all times. after her record flopped and she moved to l.a., where prince had her followed by his people. he eventually became interested in mayte and apparantly, the way he used to treat carmen was now the way he was treating mayte. supposedly he told her she was out and that was that.

strangely, prince gave her a 2nd break and hooked her up with a gig at l.a.'s glamslam. the rest is history. i know this is all old news but hearing these people talk about the antics of our little guy was kind of disheartening. i don't know if its true or not but, judging from some of prince's past actions, it certainly is not too far fetched!

whats wrong with making your partner staay in full make-up?

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Though I wouldn't be surprised if most of the things said about him were true, one must never believe what is said about Carmen and Prince...because it changes every other week.

It's what happens to spineless adults.

MY point is that if it went down exactly as they say then she is indeed SPINELESS, and as an adult could have bolted the minute she developed some intestinal fortitude.

If any of this went down it's both parties' fault.
Prince for being a control freak and Carmen for putting up with it.
Putting up with that to simply stay in a buisness that "kicks your ass" is NOT good excuse. From what you're saying she let him treat her horribly so she could be a star, yeah,that just completely disagrees with what Dansa, Supernova, and Rd said.

BTW:why are we even talking about this? As I've said before the story chnages every other week and we've never heard anything directly from her, doesn't that sound a little suspicious to anyone? Maybe it's the truth exagerated, i.e. maybe he wanted(not made, how could anyone make a grown-ass person do something? ) her wear full make up while in his presence and not while she was sleeping. Shows like these take truth and exagerate the hell out of it.
And he couldn't have been that bad to her...considering she's hosting the family jamm, which he's very likely to show up for...

He hooked her up.. gave her a name.. produced ,paid & recorded a album for her...also a video.. gave her a job at his club.. & on the E! True Story they said he made the call to Playboy for her too..

she paid him back in the way he wanted.. she knew the deal!

Here is what I heard from watching the Carmen Electra Story on the Entertainment Network last week:
First of all, her name was Tara (something). Prince actually gave her the name Carment Electra, Carmen being his favorite Broadway show and Electra from another Broadway show he likes. Prince saw her dance (on video or something) and called her at home the following week asking if she'd dance for him, said he would help her out in order for her to get a big break. She went to Minneapolis and moved into her own appartment near Paisley Park. Prince would take care of all the financial issues, rent, clothes, food, etc... He told her that she had talent and much potential as a dancer, but that her voice wasn't strong enough to make it as a singer. As we all know, they ended up sleeping togerther. She confided in personal friends that she would sleep in her makeup, just as Prince would at that time and both wore the same makeup (Mac C5 ??). Prince would also ask her to always be in full makeup whenever she would go out, he said it was better for her career. She felt a bad because Prince wanted to keep their relationship secret and wasn't making public apprearances with her by his side. He claimed that it too was better for her career and that he thought she should wait until later. She said that Prince would go into the recording studio chamber and lock himself up for 2 - 3 days without coming out and without eating; she said he expected the same discipline out of her. Basically, she was stressed, overworked and felt a bit like a prisoner. When she saw him eyeing Mayte, she decided to call it quits when it came to romance. He was apparently upset and stopped supporting her financially. She moved out, away into her own place and had a very hard time. She called him back later when she was broke and desparate and as she said, Prince isn't the kind of guy to turn his back when someone needs help. They had remained friends and Prince helped her out once again. From that, she did make it on her own, got a boob job, etc... Prince did have a part of her fame and success. When her close friend asked "what is it like to sleep with Prince?", Carmen just rubbed her palm against her two fingers and made a yawning gesture with no further comment...
