black/lovesexy , 1 double album ,your thoughts pls ?

reading the earlier threads on the above, i was thinking "IF" p + w/b ever kiss and make up and release the w/b back catalogue. they could release BLACK/LS as a double album with proper informative linear notes xplainin the whole black/ls era, this would b great 4 the newbies 2 listen 2 the albums with all the relevant info as well ! as newer fans may buy the albums years apart, and not even kno they r related !, i may b wrong but i think bein a fan at this time and buying all those dodgy tapes and records of black added 2 the mystique + and created an aura/monster ! i spent a couple o years o my life searching 4 a perfect copy of black on bootleg, unsuccessfully i may add !its not as good as ls but... black is still a brilliant album, totally unique in my opinion !

i once read black was the most bootlegged album of all time !!!

sorry its kinda the same q as b4 , but do the fans who lived the xperience appreciate the album more ?

and would a double as above help the newer fans appreciate the albums more or not ?

1 last thing this is just a thread ,no 1 has 2 go mental ! whether they aggree or not ! ,remember its only opinions !

I think that would be a great idea. If I were just becoming a fan of lil' man's music, I would be alot more intereted in the backstory of black/ls. In my younger days, I was also obsessed with finding the best bootleg of Black I could find. I damn near lost my fro when I found the boot on CD! Tha was probably the climax of Prince buying spree. When the official came out, it kind of lost some of the magic. It was too far removed from the era in which it was recorded. It was like a really good quote taken out of context.

Besides, WB could do some hot packaging with Black/LS. I'm talkin' bout some yin/yang type of stuff.

Would you keep "When 2 R In Love" on Black, LS, or both?

i agree buyin the official cd in the 90's was definetely a let down in some strange way , probably cos we put black on a high plato we could'nt reach ! then its presented 2 us and its hmmm ok i got it now,i still ocasionally play an old bootleg tape of the album just 4 old times sake !

i'd like when 2 r in love 2 b the centre piece o the album the track which crosses over either from the dark 2 the light or vice versa !,but it'd probably have 2 stay on both and b xplained in the linear notes as 2 why !!!

I like them seperate, I don't think the Black Album deserves to be with Lovesexy at all.

Very obvious conclusion.

I always liked the idea of them 2gether. Also loved the idea of the 'illegal'releasepath of the black album as opposed to the legal one of LoveSexy. It had 2 be this way.
