Assuming that this is all true, it all boils down to this:
She left him walk all over her so she could be star. After her album BOMBED she went back and cried home to all of her friends. Had she gone multi-platnium she and her people wouldn't have said a DAMN thing.
They were both wrong.
So don't jump on people who won't feel sorry for someone who knowingly let it happen just so they could have fame and fortune.

...that's the last thing I'm gonna say on this subject.

The story I heard was that sometime in 83 or 84 Prince had sent a limo to pick her up to bring her to a show in the Norfolk/Virginia Beach area for which she ditched her husband who had, at that time, fairly recently returned from 9 months of service in the military. He left her because of it that night (who could blame him). Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone else had ever heard of this or can somehow confirm it for me.

She knew about his reputation, but refused to beleive it (), obviously she found out the hard way. so in this case, yes, she was EXTREMEMLY naive. she was warned, but whenever he pulled that "I've changed" thing on her she believed it, she wa sonly 19 when they started dating.
See, the thing I like about her is that she doesn't constantly complain about her time with Prince (unlike vanity, carmen, and nona), she was wanred, but went thru with it anyway. that's also the reason why wendy, lisa, and others don't seem to give her much synpathy when speaking about this subject.
So in short, she knew about his reputation and was warned, refused to believe it (for whatever reason), and finally saw the light.
