prince and kylie minogue in a uk mag, kylie minogue was saying that her biggest musicial idol is prince and she would love to work with him again!
... ... she said that they had recorded a song together in the early ninties ( first i've heard of this ) but prince has always refused to release it. ... .. now kylie is very popular in the uk at the moment, she can put out a steaming pile of shit "slow" and it still gets to number one. i think this goes to show once and for all that prince is just not interested in playing along with the media game anymore. all he would need to do is release this duet and bang...an instant big hit. ... ... i think that kylie is well beneath prince musically but its good to see she knows genius when she sees it.

Baby Doll and Sex On Legs right? huh.
This was just as she was finishing with PWL/ Stock, Aitken Waterman. There was a recent interview where she briefly said that her latest album, Body Language, was partly influenced by Prince amongst others. The influence can be heard definately. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

She actually called him "sex on a stick". When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading.

She doesn't have much T but her A is nice. When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading.

Basically, I think it was her relationship with Michael Hutchence that completely changed her musically as well as changed her image!!
The best thing she did was to leave Stock, Aitken and Waterman!! If she was still with them now, she would never b anywhere near as huge as she is now around the world!! Lokk where other SAW acts are now - NOWHERE!!! Mind U, I am not a huge fan of her, I am only going by observations!!

Michael Hutchence really matured her and brought out her sexuality!! It was the best thing that ever happened 2 her!!
He left a good legacy!! | |

I find it interesting that Prince saw her capacity to be a star more than ten years ago (before America woke up to her talent).
She's been a star in most global territories since she arived on the scene but the only U.S. producer to see her talent (in the past) was Prince. Kylie is a consummate performer. Maybe she doesn't source her own material a lot of the time - but that didn't stop Warhol. She's one of the greatest performance artists on Earth. Maybe she can't sing as well as Christina, maybe she doesn't write all her own stuff - But she puts on a great show. And her favourite Prince song is Private Joy...

Respect the fact that Kylie has been around since 1987, and that she actually part of pop music history having been part of the S/A/W sound. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The thing that really pisses me off about Kylie Minogue is that she can't sing live. She's always lipsynching, even at concerts. I just think its awful. The first week of live Top of the Pops, she had to sing live and she sounded like a cat being castrated!!!!! Yes, she has a weak voice, but hotdamn is she FABULOUS. Just think of the video they could make together. Prince would not even have to stand on a box!

Hee-hee, but Prince hasn't released a single in years, and hasn't released a single with proper promotion in even longer. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I used to think that too until I saw her last year in Sydney during her 'Fever' tour and she blew me away with just how strong and in tune she was singing... Very impressed I was - A+ to her singing coach! I sincerely want 2 fuck the taste out of your mouth

What is S/A/W, some kind of management company? SAW are Stock, Aitken & Waterman - a kind of 80s UK Motown (in terms of a lot of artists being produced by the same producers, not in terms of music). S/A/W runs the gambit from Hi-NRG, 80s 'Soul', and Pop. Other SAW acts you might of heard outside the UK: Rick Astley, Princess, Bananarama. See the link in my sig. Very impressed I was - A+ to her singing coach! Kylie can blow!!! I don't know what put the fire under her ass but there was an awesome remix on PWL in the early 90's which featured her on vox. It's a fun record... a bit dated as it boasts the "Rave" sound but it's a record that I wish I hadn't sold. She was credited but no one believed it was her. "Keep Pumpin' It Up" or something like that. It's an underground remix of a SAW production.

What is S/A/W, some kind of management company? They were the devil incarnate, responsible for some of the worst manufactured pop ever. These tunes would get in your head and not leave for weeks, so in that respect they were very good at what they did. Mel and Kim, Kylie, Jason Donovan, Bananarama, Rick Astley etc Oh god! the Horror!

Body Language, Fever, Light Years, and Impossible Princess are all good albums IMO. Yeah, its pop dance music but good pop dance music. I'd take the classy sexy Kylie over all the young Madonnawannabees. One word "Kylie" people know. Kylie a true pop princess. Keeps on that path changes some, just cool she is not singing Evita or singing on some oldies jazz shit! Like what you like. Your opinion is your opinion. Really its a sign of old age when we are complaining about who is 'cool' now and what the kids like today. Charts were not so 'evil' when Prince was in them!

Mel and Kim, Kylie, Jason Donovan, Bananarama, Rick Astley etc Oh god! the Horror! It all depends on your opinion I guess. Were The Time, Vanity 6, Sheila E, Jill Jones, Madhouse etc, manufactured? SAW brought Hi-NRG, the hybrid strain of electro-new wave-disco into the mainstream and dominated the UK popcharts on a weekly basis for most of the late 80s, finely tuning their take on Hi-NRG and Italo into well crafted pop songs. But that's just my opinion ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
