Has anyone heard the other albums nominated? Although I haven't heard the albums, Ry Cooder and George Winston seem more Grammy-friendly. I would love NEWS to win, though...

NEWS: A Grammy Nominated album

I honestly am totally shocked, but bloody over the moon!

When was the last time Prince had a Grammy nomination? When I say this is fantastic, I'm really trying to say something that words fail me on! Doesn't matter if he wins, it's great for Prince to have this recognition. Many fans may agree with me how frustrating it can be to know P is so underrated.

Don't listen to those who bitch that his new stuff aint as good as the old stuff. It doesn't matter. What does matter is that he's still putting out good music after quite a long time. That is in itself an achievement.

Congratulations Prince, and take this as a sign to keep pushing and experimenting!

If not for his Hall Of Fame nomination and soon to be induction I doubt NEWS would even be noticed by the old fogey, usually out of touch, Grammy nominating committee.

Timing is a large part of success, especially in the music business, and Prince's first full decade of album releases should be remastered and reissued in light of all this.

But the man is stubborn (sometimes you have to be). Don't get your hopes up.

I'm really pleased about this. I don't think he'll win, I'm not sure it's "conventional" enough (and can you imagine them playing a 14min track from it!!!), but I'm really happy he's still getting recognition.

I know the Grammy's get dissed a lot ("Best Opera or Alt-Country album by an overseas transsexual goes to...") but sod it, this is great news (no pun intended).

Last time nominated was 95 for Gold lp & I Hate U.

That is one of the many grammys they will not televise, so no reason getting to amped. Doesn't help that NEWS aint very good.
