I noticed that the "sticky" has disappeared over at the U Smell Us forum...so now there's no mention of TCI anywhere on the NPGMC site. How much do you wanna bet that it's off?

I bet you it is caled off completewly. They ask if the fans would like that after all the suggestions. They have a semi large ad campaign boasting it on the site...they do so many retarded things it has to be on purpose in some sick artist teasing the fans dynamic.

I know he has some Universal release upcoming but it really doesn't sem liek this club release would effect a major commerical one.

wouldnt that be sweet if they gave TCI to its members for free as a surprise Xmas present

I'm guessing that the 7CD set didn't go over too well with Universal & he has delayed it until late next year at which point it will be an old project & never gets released because he will have moved onto newer projects. Perhaps it could be broken down to smaller releases - the NPGMC downloads could be a double cd for instance.

Of course, that's what they should have been doing all along...selling previously downloadable and otherwise unreleased material by CD through their website. If it's because of something Universal is doing that has to do with "Musicology," then why bother anyway? It's not gonna make any money...at least when Prince was with WB we got the benefits of him being hooked up with a major...now we're getting screwed both ways. We're always hearing "he's independent" when people complain about product quality or delivery...and now he can't even release something that would only be of interest to a select few hardcore fans because he signed a distribution/publishing deal with ANOTHER major company. Jeesh!

Someone posted a thread earlier today on the club posing this same question, and it should be noted that the moderators have not responded...you would think they'd be pretty quick to come down with one of their condescending "you just have to be patient" responses if it was still coming out.

In a normal situation a lack of response would indicate that TCI is cancelled BUT this is Prince's reality and no answer could mean any number of things from they know nothing to they have been told to give no reponse to they are having a bad day & just don't feel like answering. Don't project your feelings onto NPGMC's actions. NPGMC announced TCI before all the hurdles were cleared - maybe they are shutting up until things are more definite. They screwed up again - they are in no hurry to add more dung to the pile.

Everyone should stop expecting so much. Pay the money and treat anything you get as a bonus. If you go in with that mentality, you won't be dissappointed.

Maybe the delay is because the Xeno set that came out..he thinks the money will go there instead.
