Prince Commercials

Has Prince ever appeared in a radio/TV commercial? I know he's written music for commercials (though I can't think of an example right now), but I don't know of any TV commercials he's done.

I'm sure that Pepsi/Coca Cola must have asked him to promote their stuff in the 80s, but he always refused, didn't he?

Has he ever 'sold out'? (in that way! smile )

According to Per Nilson, Prince wrote the jingle "Always Coca Cola" and got a pretty penny from the deal. There are the rumors that he also wrote "Uh Huh" for Pepsi.

He wrote 'Uh Huh' for Ray Charles (I think) and there's a version of it circulating with his vocals on it which is pretty cool

I had no idea that he wrote 'Always Coca-Cola', and it sounds a bit suspect to me...

No 'always coca cola' (joy in repetition you would be insane to think prince wrote that awfull tune)
Yes 'Uh huh', definitly from prince.

prince turned down a deal from coke in their bid to rival the jackson/pepsi deal. he refused it though, apparently.

Ohoh, heard that too. Whenever there is thirst - there's always the real thing. Pretty Princy tune.

I had no idea he wrote "Always Coca-Cola"...

I just typed Always Coca-Cola Prince into Google and it seems to be pretty well documented.

Thinking about it, the jingle does sound like the verses of Manic Monday...

Well, I just googled it and all I found was a link to this thread, an article on the Detroit crawl saying it's rumoured to be true and FA else on the subject.

No - There are other pages, but admittedly, they do all seem to credit the Nilson book as their source.

I've read that he wrote "Always Coca-Cola" and then I've also read that he didn't, so who knows. Before I ever heard that rumor, I always thought that was a great little jingle, so I wouldn't be surprised if he did write it.

How many of you pplm are gonna screw up with the "Uh Huh" thing? Prince SAMPLED the "Uh Huh" part and snaked the Chorus from that song and wrote a new tune around it.

Come on, LISTEN to the dang song guys...

I Feel Like Chicken Tonight sounds like one of his.
This is getting silly now. Couldn't care less if he wrote the Coke jingle or not.
