Wendy & Lisa

Personally, i think Wendy and Lisa have always been the deal. Recently i visited their website, and it was refreshing to see them still alive and well and continuing their careers as well as envolving and following other talents.. They've been together for all these many years and i think thats great. i listened to some of their newer material and its great too. there were a few titles that i could even hear the "Great Ones'" voice over. Question: "why do you think they were able to stick together and continue to be a strong force?, whats wrong with Prince, did he really not realize what he had? , & do u think they will "revolution-ize" again?

probably 'cause they've been best friends for 20+ years
whats wrong with Prince, did he really not realize what he had?

He grew apart(musically) from them
do u think they will "revolution-ize" again?

doubt it

I love W&L and think they have become so much more than just "the chicks from the Revolution". If they and Prince ever perform together again I'd like it to be new material or covers of classic songs - there's no reason for them to take a back seat again after all these years.

Anxiety

I think the time for them to reunite and go back to their old way of working together has come and gone, though it would be nice to see them work together a little bit on some unfinished gems or even a new composition or two...I think there might be a little collaborative juice left, but they've grown too different over the years.

Like someone else posted, I think the time has come...and gone for Prince to have collaborated with them.
I remember the messages that flashed up at the beginning of the Diamonds and Pearls shows that said 'Wendy and Lisa, please phone home'

Besides, no-one could wear stockings and trainers like Wendy.
And I never met a girl who can flick her fringe outta her face, while playing the piano quite like Lisa.

and if i recall correctly, when asked she said, "Well I'm just a virgin and I'm on my way to be wed, but you're such a hunk so full of spunk. i'll give ya...," followed by:"I must confess I wanna get undressed..."

now thats entertainment!

I was just listening to this great, unsung New Wave group called The Eurogliders. They had a hit back in the day with "Heaven(Must Be There)". But I realized they sound a lot like Wendy & Lisa's solo group. Even the lead singer, Grace Knight, sounds like Wendy.

W&L were a couple, but from what I've read they are no longer romantically involved - I believe Wendy was seeing a film director also called Lisa.

I agree..I'm still hoping for them to get together (which i think is not going to happen). For me, the revolution is the best band prince ever had. Wendy & Lisa are like spoon & pork. Like Hall & Oates, thay make much better music together. and they can definitely stand on their own. they learn from prince and he learn from them as well.

i couldn't agree more. none of them would be who they are today if they didn't have each other. no prince! no wendy & lisa! no revolution!

not that it's mine, yours, or anyone else's buisness but they were never married and are no longer together in "that way".They continue to work together and are still friends and were friends before their other relationship, and both have described the other as a best friend. wink

Well, that's news to me. As far as the 'none of our business' thing, nobody EVER makes that kind of qualification when talking about straight people's relationships. "Oh, Prince and Mayte got married, not that it's anyone's business." I think that proffering that kind of invisibility is a function of homophobia.

P.S. What are your sources?
