I played this in my club the other night. God, i love the discordant piano jam during the middle. Also, when the synth breakdown kicked in i found myself behind my decks looking over the crowd with my arms raised in the air doing that clicking of your fingers on the 2 & 4 as in the Purple rain movie!

Yeah! it was automatic, i didnt even know i was doing it at first. When i did realise what i was doing i just thought "fuck, i feel good" and clicked some more! Camp prince wanna be style, lol!

On a serious note, housequake doesnt go down well with my audience. it was always my 1st choice when deciding to drop some prince on them but it just didnt work. U got the look 12" on the other hand gets aeverybody doing it.

LOVE LOVE LOVE the "Let's Go Crazy" 12'. I also thought the discordant piano was brilliant. That song is just well ahead of it's time IMO.

Yes, that 12" defined the purpose of the "12" extended version!!!

You know during the PR tour, he often played that discordant piano jam during "Delirous" rather than LGC.

Also... I LOVE that synth breakdown... at least if you're referring to the thing I'm thinking... the synth "horns" sound that often appear in Time songs... They're in other parts of LGC but in the 12" you really get to hear them.

There's a very similar sound on the album version of The Glamorous Life.

I tried to re-create that sound in a song I wrote back then... basicaly I kept using mod wheel on my synth ... but still doesnt' sound exactly right. One day I want to learn how to do it right.

This single is just plain the high point of all things Prince to me. The first time I cracked the shrinkwrap on this and slid it on the turntable...dang, what would I be listening to today if not for that moment? Yum.

Maybe its just me, but after the "extended" bit in the middle and right after the "aaahhh" back into the main song, the volume drops right down.

Its always really annoyed me!
