opinions on prince's greatest unreleased song? i think his best unreleased song is "open book" a very strong number and a mystery that it has never been released. "electric intercourse" is another strong song.

There are five which actually managed to burn God's bare feet with their towering infernos of ball-aching genius - not in my humble opinion, but in actual stone cold hard fact.
All My Dreams. In A Large Room With No Light. There's Other's Here With Us. Cross The Line. Dance With The Devil.

I like all previous suggestions.
I think All My Dreams is like some bizarre pinacle of Prince, where he reached as high as he could with the sound he was going for then. But then that was just one phase, he's had tons of phases. There are a lot of out-takes that compared to the released songs from the period (minus our familiarity with those released songs) that you can see why they were unreleased. Either they didn't fit what he was going for at the time, or they just aren't all that hot. I think most of his best work, he released, but there are lots that slipped through the net. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'm a sucker for a major chord

1. The Grand Progression
2. All My Dreams 3. Electric Intercourse From what I've heard so far.

To me, "All My Dreams" sounds like something he would have written for Barry Manillow. NCC2012... your local Trekkie. =/\=

Paradigm---why they didn't do a track like this when GC was on his label? It bumps.

If he'd have dropped 'Do Yourself A Favor' back in '84 or '85 it'd have ruled the pop charts. Unbelievably catchy pop tune.
With that said I'd be choosing from: Electric Intercourse Moonbeam Levels The Grand Progression In A Large Room With No Light I Can't Love U Anymore Open Book With the favorite being 'Electric Intercourse'. For the life of me I can't figure why he never did a studio recording of this.

Why is it folks NEVER appreciate WITNESS?
That song is fierce. Hard guitar solo, killer chorus, prince in his nasty voice, it's just awesome. WAY funkier than Open Book, but hey, if you're into slow numbers, then I spose it's great. WITNESS 4 The PROSECUTION is THE greatest Prince jam. I only wish it was 5 times as long with 4 more guitar solos. And that BASS! BAM. BAM. I'll say it again. BAM. Dance With The Devil and Open Book?
I odnt get it why folks like these. I know I know its all opinions but still... I dont get it. These songs are quite underwhelming to me. Dance Devil sounds like such a throwaway and something he did in 1 hour etc "Climb in my fur."

He has so many bad-assed jams, jams that he has probably even forgotten.. songs that were nothing more than musical exercises. Dance With The Devil is an amazing song. Climax is a monster groove from the 1999/Purple Rain era, There are just too many..

I'd agree with Open Book, except that it has been released, only through a version by Jevetta Steele which no one has really heard...
For a song that is truly unreleased, I'd have to say "Rebirth of the Flesh". It just kicks my ass.

Open Book isn't an unreleased song.
It's on Jevetta Steele's 1993 album 'Here It Is'. Here's a few of my favorite unreleased tracks: All My Dreams Moonbeam Levels In A Large Room With No Light Witness 4 The Prosecution Make It Through The Storm
