And it sounds great. I tryed to find another copy of the movie, Under The Cherry Moon which was released the same year as Parade. Some of my favorites are Kiss (everybody's favorite), New Postion, and the instrumental, Venus De Milo which is beautiful. I also brought that album, Emancipation, which is brillant. Parade is Prince at his funky best.

put on Anotherlover and do the grooveatronic in your front room window

Put on "Venus De Milo" and spank your monkey.

put on I Wonder You and do a slow groove with your hips

Just put the whole album on and do whatever the music tells you to - it'll be fun.

put on Girls n Boys and do the memphis hip shake or get on all fours and get sexy wit it

Actually, I wish Prince would release those wonderful B-sides from that period on CD 1 of these days... I have the extended versions of "Kiss" & "Mountains" even after all these years, & bought them just 4 "Love or $" & ESPECIALLY 4 the extended "Alexa De Paris"!!! That's probably my all-time fave of his jams!

Put on "Do U Lie" and sing along with the backround harmonies.

put on kiss and rigt after th e James Brown lick of I Feel Good openiong and prince grunts--go "UGGGH!" real loud

Think of ferrying oonto a dock/harbor with overcast skies while Venus DeMilo plays--espeically near the the last min or so with the french horns and/or muted trumpet

Parade always has been, and most likely always will be my favourite Prince album.

I remember first listening to it on vinyl when I first got into Prince in 1991, and it was just such a warm album, completely flows beautifuly and is so eclectric to boot.

Prince has often tried to show his range on albums, sometimes it works (SOTT), sometimes it sounds to contrived (Rave, Emancipation) - I think Parade is so cohesive and diversive.

It's fucking magic.

I remember when I was in Kindergarten (sorry for bringing these stories back up) and I felt like such an outcast. The rest of the boys were into the other folks. I was tis kid who liked Prince as well as "white people music" while the boys were into Michael, L.L., Run DMC, and the girls looked up to Whitney, Janet, and Madonna. But that's how I liked it. Prince was my dirty little secret.

I will say this.. NOTHING in the 90's, and so far in the 00's could ever reach what Parade is.
