Lovesexy was a mystical tour!

This was the only year (1988) and time that i saw Prince live. I was amazed. I remember how excited I was when he came out on stage in the Chevy. I can clearly remember Prince chanting:

(any1 w/ this show recorded will recall)

during 'Head' by the way:

'Head...Pittsburgh, one word...Head...,' he said it a few times by the way.

One love 2 all!!!

I have only seen lovesexy and nude,i fail to see how lovesexy as a spectacle can b beaten,
funny how those who saw the sott tour say sott was better,i have sott on vid and i think lovesexy was better as an all round show.
Maybe i would have a different view if had seen it,i dont know.

Lovesexy was cool with the stage props, effects, etc. I think for the stage performance, Act I was better.

SOTT was excellent for what it was, but I think the Lovesexy tour had a lot more variety and spontaneity.

It's like cheese and pickles.
Both are good but it's better to have both.

flower Lovesexy is the One! flower

I wouldn't say it was better than other tours, but it's one show I'll never forget just because of what it meant and how it touched everyone who was there, including me. It was full of high spiritual-adrenaline fun!

Only Rave?? You need to find the Sign O the Times movie YESTERDAY!!!
Prince may be the purple Yoda, but Wendy & Lisa and Eric Leeds also sit on the Jedi Council.

I sooo wanted to see that concert live in person. I lived in a very small city at the time and was not close enough to a city he was touring.

I love the JOTY tours and the One Night Alone tour, of him just on stage playing music. But, I want to see a Prince SPECTACLE!!! Give me SOTT, Lovesexy, Diamonds and Pearls, all of which I did not see, anyday. Give me some dancing, give me some changing of outfits, give me a wild stage setup. That's what I don't mind paying $85 per ticket for. Oh well, I'm sure those days are gone now, but I still can wish.
I am convinced Beyonce's career would not be where it is, if she had dark skin.

Lovesexy at Nassau Colisseum was my first Prince concert...and it turned me into a hardcore fan.

It was the most amazing concert I've experienced to date.

thumbs up!

Same here. I've only seen Prince live since Jam of the Year tours...for Purple Rain I was too young to really remember much. True enough, he's a great performer but after seeing a tape of Lovesexy and just reading what others have posted, it does seem like we missed the PRINCE tours. Like you said, all the wild stage sets...you know a "theme" when it was PRINCE...the image and all not just the music.

This thread brings back some of my best memories ever...Frankfurt, Germany 27th August 1988, 50.000 people, the guitar-solo during 'Sister' was so incredible crazy (and loud), definitely the highlight of a show which consisted of nothing but highlights!bow bow headbang

Watching the Lovesexy concert on a Europe wide live broadcast from Germany is what hooked me on Prince.

I only have the live in Germany video from that tour, and it'll probably be the closest thing I'll get to having experience that. Thanks for the memories. thumbs up!

I love that part from the Dortmund shows I've seen from video. Those shows turned a lot of people into hardcore fans who are still amazed by it. Prince could make so much bank if he released that sucker on DVD.

U will not be disapointed when U see him again...
.
musically better than ever, the best band, many great interpretations of the great classics, and amazing improvisations.

Absolute Legend.

Lovesexy was my first (and second) Prince concert. Worcester, MA and Hartford, CT.

What a first Prince concert to experience!
