erotic city...when prince's b-sides where better then other artists a-sides. i was listening to erotic city( edit)(the guy who did this should be shot) from the b-sides cd...it still sounds great and a lot better than most of the songs that were in the charts in the 80,s...i think prince was on a hot streak when he recorded this stuff
... ...when you think of the other b-sides around this time...17 days, she's always in my hair, really top notch songs that prince didn't think good enough for his albums...amazing. | |

Prince's b-sides are commonly better than most artists a-sides.
I think in some cases though it isn't the fact that the b-sides are too weak to be placed on an album, but would possibly sound out of place - like 'Hello' and 'Girl' on 'ATWIAD'. Or 'I Love U In Me' on 'Batman'.  love is god, god is love, girls and boys love god above | |

Those B-sides from Purple Rain to SOTT were really something else weren't they! After that the B-sides sounded rushed, unfinished or uninspired, and in the '90s he went for remixes which were dissapointing to say the least (baring a few exceptions). I think that The Hits/The B-Sides should have been two separate double albums. There's so many great songs that none of us have the full-length versions of in CD Quality.
Disc One Erotic City Loveleft, Loveright Feel U Up Scarlet Pussy Horny Pony Love Or $ Shockadelica Irresistible Bitch Escape Horny Toad 200 Balloons Violet The Organ Grinder Disc Two Hello How Come U Don't Call Me Anymore Another Lonely Christmas God Alexa De Paris I Love U In Me Girl She's Always In My Hair Alphabet St. (This Is Not Music, This Is A Trip) Escape (Free Yo' Mind From This Rat-Race) La, La, La, He, He, Hee 17 Days ...or something like that. Maybe not in that order... In fact, if they were all the full-length versions, would they fit on two discs? I would have added Good Love too, because although it wasn't a B-Side, it wasn't available on any Prince album at the time. | |

What was the last real B-Side? Was it "Rock And Roll Is Alive (And It Lives In Minneapolis)"?
