CHICAGO PEOPLE/PRINCE VIDEOS Hey! Does anyone in the Chi-town area remember "Video Beat"
on Clark St.? I loved that store and looked forward to buying a Prince video there on my last visit.. but the store was gone! Some girl even got an attitude with me when I questioned her about it. She said, "I've lived in Chicago all my life and I've never heard of that place." Anyway, where can I find good Prince videos? I want that one with all his professional music vids on it... the ones that were never realeased or played much. Automatic, I Wish U Heaven etc. *********************************************************************************************

Yep, I remember Video Beat. I used to brag to a friend of mine about this other spot that had Prince videos til she took me to Video beat and they had a wall of Prince concerts and videos.

I only got to go there once, right when it was closing. I managed to snag a Bowie concert video and an import St. Etienne video compilation during their "going out of business" sale, but alas...all their Prince goodies had already flown off the shelves.

I know y'all are talking Chicago, but if you're ever heading south to the Loo there's a place called 'Now Hear This' that regularly carries a cornucopia of Prince product.
Did you hear me? A cornucopia, I say.

I had been hearing a lot about Video Beat from my friend April and I was glad that I did get to visit the joint before it closed. I picked up a bunch of Prince videos, including a 2 tape set of SOTT outtakes. They were famous for their deep Prince collection! I was sorry to hear that they had closed. You could find a lot of surprises there!

They had an autographed picture from Cat Glover! She is a Chicago native. *********************************************************************************************

i bought a few things from there. i went to go there a little while back and was disappointed to find that it was no longer there. i hear that he does all of his business online now, but i don't know how to reach him. that is how i got my hands on that first avenue show from 83 (the benefit for the dance company).
