In Sananda's defense, he's always struck me as terribly articulate. What he says makes sense, it's just amusingly cosmic... perhaps something else Prince set into motion for him.

I used to think the same thing about this cat: overrated, conceited, Prince clone, etc. But after listening to Wildcard, and his debut album, I believe his work stands on its own feet, even if the Prince influences are obvious.

Now, that quote was on some other ish, but put that aside for a minute. He subtly acknowledges what many of his haters have said for years: he ain't quite on P's level. But he also brings up an interesting point. It would be cool for those cats to do a collabo.

People, you need to listen to this interview to see where Sananda is coming from. Don't take what he says too literally, but he is basically trying to say he makes music that makes people think and not talk down to them, or cater to any 'lowest common denominator' bs.

I can understand that sometimes what he says can be a bit too 'lofty' for some, making some think he's crazy. I can assure you he has his head screwed on better than most like to give him credit for

the comparisons with Prince he's just trying to hightlight that they are on the same page as far as their musical goals and ideals. He has mentioned before, like in that audio interview I linked to, that artists should be risk-takers basically, and uplift the people and make help them think for themselves, not talk down to them or dumb down their craft in the name of sales or whatever. Both Prince and Sananda have arguably done that - among others - so he's qualified to say that, IMO. The audio interview may also help put in context the "government" comment he made.

Or then again he may just confuse you more, I dunno. If he's nuts, I'm hooked
