FRONTIN BY PHARREL AND JAY Z SHOULD HAVE BEEN SUNG BY PRINCE I think this song would have made it to Number One.. Imagine Prince doing the Pharrel vocals with Jay Z rapping in the middle... also the music sounds like prince anyway...
what does everyone think?

no...no,no,no no, no, no, no, AND no! wasnt it written for prince anyway? and pharell refused to sing it without him until he was persuaded by his record company. prince really should be working with these peeps, look at how well sting does off of it. i know he aint interested necessarily in commercial etc etc but neptunes, basement jaxx outkast all wanting to work with him. it just pains me to think of how much respects and deserved kudos he is missing out on at the moment.

what does everyone think? I think Pharrel can't sing and the song is v.weak. Sorry. It's one of those songs that I hear it once, and it's enough. Goes nowhere. Does nothing for me. Prince was right for rejecting it (if he did), IMO.

I'm gld everyone is saying NO. I'd hate to think people hear Prince when they listen to these skanky rappers. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Pharrel approached Prince about singing this song on the 'Clones' album...unlike Jay-Z, Prince actually did speak to Pharrel telling him that he "has no interest in pop music right now..."...Pharrel wasn't offended...

Awww, heyyylll NO.
There's nothing to this boring, simplistic song. It has nothing that makes it stick to your proverbial ribs. The damn thing came and went in a flash. And Prince couldn't have made it a "hit"... It's even weak by Neptunes' standards. This post not for the wimp contingent. All whiny wusses avert your eyes.

Last thing we need is Prince, trying 2 do the Madonna and Britney Thing .. As much as I love the neps' I think Prince made the right choice.

oh come on, it's Pharrel's "special" falesetto that makes that whole song work ~KiKi
