Reply to 'anyone here met or touched prince?'
I sorta met Prince in Oct 97 at an aftershow and he was real cool. I was about one or two feet from him. He was sitting at the sound board. He did not seem short just real skinny. He made eye contact with me three or four times and just smiled. But did seem shy. His hair was way bigger than you would think and his eyes had on a lot more make up than I thought. But he was real cool. Just chillin and he smiled a lot. He would glance up from time to time. Real genuine smile...

First Sydney show this year, during the soundcheck, Prince decided to walk down from the stage and through the crowd. I patted him on the shoulder and in a big, booming Northern English voice, exhorted 'Well 'un Prince!'
I have never seen a man run away so quickly in my life.

Forum aftershow 92??? following the Wembley Stadium concert. Towards the end of the show he got a strange grin on his face and suddenly stage dived into the crowd , landing directly on top of me. Instead of carrying him above their heads the crowd parted and he gave me a smirk before climbing back on stage. In heels he wasn't as short as I imagined but he sure wore a lot of foundation.

got a few experiences...well me and my mommy
was introduced to princes music by, of all people, my mother. Actually some o u guys might know her... Tina Ray (now Tina Ford) any way my experience was not real spectacular, but great for me, was actually leaning on the stage at paisly show around the time of the gold experience and towards the end of the show mayte actually pointed at me and motioned for me to come on stage! was like 12 at the time so freaked at got onstage and danced with mayte and hugged prince!!! as for my moms experience... she is not just a fan... for a while she was obsesed any way she knew alot of people and one person she knew and still does was a woman named daina...im not real sure what she did exactly but she had alot of conections... anyway, at one shindig my mom went to something happened and micheal b needed a ride to the show and called daina for help so my mom actually got to go to micheal b's home and pick him up for a paisley show, and then she met all the band (except prince) and got auto graphs and had tea with them and what not... another time at one of he early shows (a show on the symbol tour) was walking through the crowed at an after show (with body gaurds of course) and she called to him, he was then so she called HEY! and he looked at her and stopped, the gaurd put his arm between them but prince actually pushed it away!! she was dumbfounded and couldnt talk so she just grabbed her symbol choker, tore it off and handed it to him, he smiled, said thanks and waled away and i almost forgot, she is in the gold video with my step dad... when u watch the video, sometime into it u will see a close up on a black woman (whos name is bianca, sorry if butchered the name) and a white woman the white woman is my mom then later the camera again closes up on the same white woman again with a man, the man is my step dad jerry!! this is the gold concert was at but was right on the stage HORRAY!!!

on the fourth concert he picked me from the crowd (11th rowd) during D.M.S.R. He waited for me to get to the stage. When i was up and centre stage he asked me on his pistol mic. what my name was. i said monte. then infront of 10,000 people he told me to dance (he say me dancing in the soundcheck) he then proceeded to dance with the horns while i "did my thing". even when i thought i had done too much, he told me to keep on going. for the rest of the concert i got an onstage ticket. and when i was on the side of the stage mani filmed me on their home video dancing for about five minutes. all this happened not long ago so i'm still a bit excited And it was fucking AWESOME!!! I still smile just thinking about that! When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading.

On April 11th 1997 Prince did a show at the Pantages Theater in Los Angeles, CA. I was lucky enough to be in the front row...not in the pit area in front of the stage, but in the first row of seats a few feet back from the stage. He almost cancelled the show that night because he wasn't feeling well. Londell McMillan came on stage after we had been waiting sometime for the show to start and asked us which we would rather have Prince do: postpone the show to a later date when he could perform 100% or do the show now as best he could even though he wasn't feeling well! I felt kind of bad, but the loudest cheers from the crowd came from those that were tired of waiting and wanted to see the man perform right then. No one really felt like going through the whole process of waiting in line for seats again, so the show went ahead! Anyway, Prince came on and began the show. He was dressed in see-through purple lace! In the middle of the second song he seemed to look my way, and I was there dancing and clapping with a huge grin on my face! I had experienced a tragedy in my life the year before and this was the first time I'd really had a chance to go anywhere for fun for a while. As he was looking my way, I held out my arms to him like I wanted to give him a hug! Never in a million years did I expect what happened next. He looked right at me, and it was as if he recognized me (or thought he did...I probably looked like someone else that he knows!!)...he put his mike down, walked down the steps at the side of the stage, and came strolling over to me with his arms open! Then, with a smile, he said "Hey, how are you doing?" and gave me a big hug. He held me long enough for me to be cheek to cheek with him and say right into his ear, "I love you, and I hope you feel better soon!" He smiled as he let go, although he may have been a little embarrassed if he realized I wasn't anybody he knew after all, and with his head down he quickly shook the hands of a couple more people next to me, and jumped back on the stage, where he proceeded to go into the next song, "Purple Rain". I was in heaven after that! [This message was edited Sat Nov 29 0:37:47 PST 2003 by purplekat]

Just been thinking about an after party in London 1990... The DJ was pumping "Flashlight" by Parliament and I was grooving to it pretty hard! I moved to my left and bumped into somebody and heard High Hills (Pumps to the US mob!) clatter on the wooden dance floor... I turned around to apologize to the young lady I had just bumped and there was Prince looking up into my face (I am 6 foot 3"!) with a "Get the funk outta ny face" look! £ Funky! and that's pretty damn funny! lol! I have met and/or touched Prince 3 times...1st time was June 21st,2001 at an aftershow in Columbus,OH he was leaving the club at 3 AM and me and my friend were hanging outside just to see if we would see him leave and sure of enough we did as he was putting one foot into the limo my friend shouted out "Hey Prince how about a handshake??" I thought no way will he do that but he stepped back out of the car and walked over to us and shook his hand then my hand and then there was 6 other girls that were hanging out and got a handshake too then my friend whispers to me to ask Prince for a hug cuz it was my birthday well thoughts are flashing thru my mind like no way is he going to do that if I ask...but I did I looked him straight in the eye and said "Prince could I have a hug cuz its my birthday??"and he smiled real big and said "Sure" then he leaned in and gave me a nice really warm and friendly hug and YES he smells SO GOOD then when we parted he just grinned and he said "Now U know ur not supposed to be celebrating birthdays" so of course I had a comeback and said "Well I really didnt celebrate that much I went to dinner with my b/f and kids and I came to see U"so he was like ok with that...hehehehehe
My second meeting with Prince was March 5,2002 in Columbus, OH again during the One Nite Alone tour and Prince picked my friend to go onstage and dance and just when I thought he was done pulling people up he said he needed one more and he came directly to ME and pointed and so he helped me up onstage cuz I had these high heeled boots on and the steps were kind of shaky so he took my hand and all I could do was pray I dont fall and in front of all these people and embarrass Prince and myself...LOL!! The third meeting was a week later at the Louisville show during the soundcheck we were sitting right next to Prince and my cell phone started ringing cuz I forgot to switch it to silent and the caller ID showed it was my ex-husbands# well Prince heard me and he was staring right at me apparently he thought this was rather funny so I asked him "Do U want to talk to him??" and Prince said "Yes" well then he tells everyone to watch and he proceeds to answer my phone and puts the mic up to the phone so everyone can hear and he told the person on the line I was not available I was busy right now and the person hung up...well by then the whole crowd is rolling and Prince is laughing and then hands the phone back to me...it was classic though...Prince playing jokes...turns out later I found out it was my then 11 yr old daughter that was on the line...we still tease her about hanging up on Prince...LOL!!

I have met Prince on three different nights. First time was @ the filming for "Love for One Another Live at Paisley Park" Gig he did for VH1. Nothing extraordinary, just shook his hand. The second time was durring the Emancipation tour at DeerCreep Music Center in Indianapolis. He pulled me up on stage as the "token white dude with no rythum" and made me do a little dance off with a few HOT ladies. I just clowned and he was laughing so hard that he put his arm around me and declared me the winner. Later at the after-party Morris Hayes came up to me and said that Prince wanted to meet me. I was taken back to the VIP section where Prince was sitting with Rhonda and The Rev, He shook my hand again and introduced me to the rest of the band as the guy he was laughing at while watching the shows tape on the bus. I got to hang in the VIP for about another 5 minutes then Prince split and pointed at me and shook his head while he was leaving. I'd KILL for a copy of that show. The third time was durring his Abe Lincoln speech @the Murat Theater in Indy. He picked me out of the crowd and asked me my last name...I said Baker. He asked me if I could bake. I asked if hot pockets counted. He was trying to be all serious and set me up for the whole "lynch" gag and I completely fucked up his gag with my hot pocket reference. He chuckled and shook his head for a second before he gained his composure and completed his speech and naming me lynch. Love and lust, they both have 4 letters...
