I'm gonna show ya what Holly Rock's about! I'm just now listening to Prince and Sheila E. live at First Ave. from 10/25/84 for the first time (thank jebus for the hub), and GOOD GAWD, it's BADDA THAN A WICKED WITCH!! I betcha can, yer little dog too, don'tcha wanna be my bitch? WHOOP!!

Oh crap, Krush Groove is such a bad film!
I bought it on VHS a year or so back, and now on DVD because I'm a Sheila freak, but crap, it's not an easy film to watch  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The best part of Krush Groove (which I saw in 1984 in a theatre in Times Square back when Times Square was still very "shady"!)... is when Sheila is in her bedroom with Benny her bass/keyboard player and they come up with basic hook of Holly Rock... Sheila's playing a drum machine... She even does the whole "everybody stop on the 1" thang just with him on keyboard.
BTW, what boot/performance is this live version from with Prince??  |

I don't know what the live version w/ Prince sounds like... but I downloaded an "extended version" of the song that is WAY better than what was released for radio airplay!!!
