help for people suffering from lack of prince funk

anybody going cold turkey from the lack of prince funk in recent years, my i recommend a dose of outkast's "the love below" twice a day with a small dose of beck's "midnight vultures" before going to bed.
...
.. lets hope its not too long until prince finds the real cure, thanks..

THere is plenty of funk on The Rainbow Children album. IN fact, there is quite a bit on NEWS if you understand the full realm of funk. It doesn't have to "have a good beat and be easy to dance to" (that old standard answer from all the dancers on American Bandstand when asked what they liked about the latest hit record) to be funky. Miles Davis' electric work in the 70s had plenty of deep funk - serious funk - inspired by Sly and James Brown.

Prince is the same kind of ground breaker that Miles was. He simply gets reviewed differently for being a rock star instead of a serious musician like many of the jazz legends.

I agree. I found myself jamming with TRC. You are right about people's definition of funk. Because I have opened my mind and ears to it, I can hear funk in some of the most unlikeliest places!
I'm an org elitist... totally unapproachable.
