prince had lot of fans,but some wrong
things he did tined a bit his fan base.
but did he get it back ,everybody loves rainbow children.
he did great tour last year.
and next year would be 20 years of purple rain.

as for the fan base, depends on when you mean. prince never had the fan base of purple rain and will 95% likely never get it back again. the next time he really boosted his fan base was around 89 with batman, but fucked that up with GB, but then got it back again with D&P, which was his last mega success. i think in terms of the hardcore 100k he's had post rave yeah he won alot back with TRC, as it reminded them of how good he could be.

next year will be 20year PR but id be shocked if he managed to sell 10million albums in a year or whatever. it would be a huge huge success if he sold 2 million in the USA. 4 million and we're talking his second biggest album ever. i think he could go platinum, have a steady seller. he'll probably have a huge huge world tour if he gets an album that goes platinum world-wide but i cant see it more than that. but who knows, hes the sort of person where if he has a couple of big hits he;s the hottest property

and with the 80s revival setting up for full swing by next year, prince is like the ultimate icon for musical talent to come to big success from the 80s, so it could be prime for him. if his new album is shit or bombs, he will do well with world tour and possible back issues, if the new album is good then his revival could last until he retires really!

but seriously, the recent Oz tour brought back a lot of the fan base in a big way.

how have the charts been since then? did anything rechart, it usually does when a big hype, especially when its all ass licking like it was for prince. it would be cool if even the hits or purple rain recharted for a couple of weeks!
