Prince & The Revelution Renuion What do u think of Prince having the best album and tour ever in 2004 with the Revelution? I don't think it's going to happen. But what about another movie called Purple Moon: An Ode To Prince. Check me out and add me on:

The best we'll see is a sheepish Mr. Nelson cranking out a few classics at the Family Jamm next month...doubtful, but maybe...and if that goes well, MAYBE an encore of that reunion at the RNRHOF...again, doubtful.
I would love it if they dug a little deeper in the reunion bag and brought out Gayle, Dez and Andre to play, too. Severely unlikely, I know, but bein' that Prince is in a religious way and all, maybe they can all come to each other fresh...did I already use the word "doubtful"???

Unless it's a cameo, or the co-stars are a stadium audience of thousands, please don't let it be so...!

I could care less about a performance. That wasn't the Revolution at their best. They need an album. That was where that group's influence served best. Prince's music was never as good before or after.

umm...dirty mind? contorversy? 1999? SOTT? He made his best music in the 80s, IMHO, with and without the Revolution. [This message was edited Sat Nov 22 19:32:47 PST 2003 by lovebizzare] ~KiKi

on an album is where they worked the best. Yes, I discovered that in 1985 when I bought the VHS of Prince & The Revolution Live for $29.95... Didn't stop me from watching it a thousand times, though. I've reversed the polarity of the neutron flow... Now to find a way to exterminate Melody Cool and Rosie Gaines...

The Revolution were a decent band...obviously give Prince 99.9% of the credit for everything that appeared on the albums during that time. Live, the Revolution was OK. I've never understood the affection that fans have for them. I prefer the SOTT band or the one from around 1993-1994.

i just received a memo from prince and npg records. it says before he regroups with his former band you will need to learn the proper spelling of revolution

Yeah but did you see the Parade tour??? That should answer your questions about the power of the Revolution. Prince may be the purple Yoda, but Wendy & Lisa and Eric Leeds also sit on the Jedi Council.

The Revolution may have played on 5 songs (studio) during the time they were together...if that...most of the stuff that was credited to 'Prince and the Revolution' was actually either just Prince or Prince, Wendy, and Lisa. ...In other words, the debate continues... -SWANGrevolts

First, co-sign to "Go watch the Parade Tour".
The Revolution kicked a** live. The bg vocals on Baby I'm A Star from the PR Live video were screwed up, which is why people are always giving them sh*t... and who knows what the problem was... it could've been a sound issue (i.e. they couldn't hear their own monitors etc.). I saw that tour live twice and it was awesome. Plus Parade Tour blew even that away. and if that goes well, MAYBE an encore of that reunion at the RNRHOF...again, doubtful.
what does RNRHOF mean??? [This message was edited Sun Nov 23 15:58:45 PST 2003 by GaryMF] [This message was edited Sun Nov 23 15:59:09 PST 2003 by GaryMF]

I'm not one of those people that feel Prince needs W&L-- they're direct involvement is basically limited to ATWIAD, Parade, and Dream Factory-- but they were undeniably the best parts of any band he's had. Only Sheila and Eric Leeds is anywhere close. I must admit I'd be interested to hear what they could do together in the studio.
