Was Kim Basinger the piece of ass that got Prince doing the Bat Dance? Would Prince have got on board with the Batman project if it wasn't for Kim Basinger? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I think he totally would have gotten on board with or without her. Nothing to do with his decision. See my thread titled Journey's End.
The Batman comes from the original called Dark Knight. Worth a read. The battle between good and evil, how one created the other, can one exist without the other. It was the perfect sequel to Lovesexy! Lovesexy was the answer. Batman was more personal in relation to himself. In the distance a light shines and I know it is mine. Someday I will touch it because it calls me. It says cross the line, cross the line. I know everything is not always what it seems, so I pinch myself daily just in case it's a dream

Prince was very interested in the 'Batman' project from the start (he initially thought about dropping out of the japanese leg of the lovesexy tour to work on it) and would've went along with it, with or without Ms. Basinger. I thought the story was that during filming, the crew would play Baby I'm a Star over and over and Jack Nicholson, being a big Price fan, convinced the director to contact Prince to do a track for the movie. Prince gave them an album Put yourself on the worldwide org map! www.frappr.com/princeorg

Yeah, I think the film-makers intended to use '1999' and 'Baby, I'm A Star' in two scenes, and then contacted Prince to see if he wanted to submit two original songs to replace them, but Prince ended up doing an entire albums worth of material.

Yes that was how Prince was approached but I think the question Romance1600 was asking was if it was the lure of Kim Bassinger that actually got him to do it. Jack would play Baby I'm A Star on the way to the studios to get himself into character for the Joker. I think Jack said something along the lines of "arrogance personified with a toungue firmly placed in his cheek, dontcha just love the guy" when asked why that song. Do you mean Frank Miller's "The Dark Knight Returns"? excellent book, I would recomend it to anyone I know that this book is what got anyone intrested in batman again back before the book everyones perception of batman was the adan west show Now I'm older than movies, Now I'm wiser than dreams, And I know who's there

You could set the women's liberation movement back thousands of years. What a chauvinistic statement - not to mention cruel. Kim Basinger deserves better than that - any woman does . . . sheesh
