Gimme Your Love and fakes I've got a James Brown/Aretha Franklin track called Gimme Your Love which I had heard had a remix produced by Prince in around 1985. However, a friend said she heard this was a fake and had no Prince involvement. Can anyone clarify this?
On the subject of faked Prince tracks, it might be helpful to others if people could add tracks to this thread that you know have been misleadingly passed off as Prince songs. I know for myself that when downloading from places like Kazaa there are a number of songs listed as by Prince that I have my doubts about. I used to rely on Uptown to keep me up to date about newly circulating outtakes, but they last did this in issue #57 and it would be helpfull to know where to look for updates on this. Are there any sites that I should look for. I don't want to miss out on genuine tracks by thinking they are fakes! Have there been any new outtakes circulating since issue #57?

Prince DID do the remix of this in around 88/89. Part 2 is unmistakingly "him" with vocals being fed through guitar effects just like in part 3 of the Scandolous Sex Suite from the same era. -----------------------------------------------

Well, there was one that began to get a wider circulation today, but you'd have to be on usenet to get first bite, I guess. ALT+PLS+RTN: Pure as a pane of ice. It's a gift.

Do you know the name of the outtake or any other details?
