Darling Nikki - JAZZ version

Hi all,

I have recorded a Jazz-version of Darling Nikki and want to share it with others, for getting comments. I triend to use usenet for this (alt.binaries.multimedia.prince) but did not succeed in posting the mp3. Any suggestions how to share it. Is it possible to share it within prince.org???

Another question: how do I get it delivered on Prince's computer??

Well I guess you could upload it to your personal web-space if your ISP gives you that option. Then post the link here (probably best placed on the "org Musician Hangout" forum).

Failing that if the file is small enough you could e-mail it any interested orgers (they could orgnote you their emial addresses).

The last question is pretty impossible to answer and probably not even worth pursuing.
Just somewhere in the middle,
Not too good and not too bad.

It might be best to address potential copyright infringement before you try to send your version to Prince.

In this respect, I doubt that prince.org would be a suitable place to post a link to your mp3.

As it is, you appear to have uploaded it on usenet.

Just another name for where you end up when power boosted by an open ended transmat beam.

You get an account with www.angelfire.com which will allow you to upload something like 10megs at a time, to a max of around 30megs. This should be more than enough for your file. Then you post the http address here on the org.

For this, you need to break through one of the rear window of Paisley Park. Then using a map, locate Prince's office. Hopefully he will have a PC there, but if you're unfortuntae, he may have a mac. Then, start up the machine, and copy your file from disc to the desktop.
Then you leave a post-it on his monitor explaining what you've done, and make a quick exit.

RE: copyright and the org.
People are free to do first-generation covers so long as they gain no financial reward from them. Many links to (great) covers of Prince songs have been posted in the Musicians forum, if you're interested.
