Life Can Be So Nice I've been listening to Parade a lot yesterday and today and I must say I am always just stunned by the following part of Life Can Be So Nice.
Shivering madly... (Shivering madly in your embrace,) Your embrace (is it better than a trip?) Better than a trip (Morning glories never cry) (My love is just a drippin') Morning glories crying (Scrambled eggs are boring) embrace (mama, u're all I want 2 know) I do love u baby, (This morning there was joy in my heart) u baby ('cause u know I loved u so. yeah) (drips) I just got the lyrics from Prince Lyrics .com and eventhough I never really knew what he was saying it still is just a blast to hear. The music is...how to describe it? Any thoughts ya'll? I'm firmly planted in denial

I really love this song. I really do. Prince doesn't make classic tracks like this anymore. Damn shame. NEW WAVE FOREVER: SLAVE TO THE WAVE FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE.

The transcription at the Databank Transcription Team site appears to be more faithful to the recorded version:
Shivering madly in your embrace is better than a trip (Shivering madly in your embrace) Morning glories never cry, my love is just a-drippin' (Better than a trip) Scrambled eggs are boring, mama, U're all I wanna know (Morning glorified in every way) This morning there was joy in my heart cuz I know that I love U so, shit! (My love 4 U, baby, drips) http://www.dtt-lyrics.com....html#life . [This message was edited Wed Nov 19 0:26:47 PST 2003 by langebleu] ALT+PLS+RTN: Pure as a pane of ice. It's a gift.

This used to be the only track on Parade I could take or leave. Never interested me much. Sometime over the last two years or so, though, this track has 'clicked' with me. Definitely a cool track for me now. Which means, there's not a track on Parade I don't love.

Doesn't Sheila play something like "Cymbals" or "high-hats" on this track? I thought it was weird cuz the live drums seem like Sheila would have played them too.

What's up with that "Guillotine" ending.
lalalala*snap* enter: Venus de Milo. It's a bit of a severe cut for my taste. But it still works. I would just like to hear how it would work fading out. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

Love this track!
Also, love the performance of the track at the Detroit '86 gig, especially the way he slows it down at the end. Sooo cool.

Now we're talking...I would have keeled over and died if he'd played it...I think its too much of a 'Wendy and Lisa' song to get any play on tour these days

I remember in high school I tried to pass the lyrics off as poetry for this chik I liked.
Talk about getting myself embarrassed... "Scrambled Eggs???" I've reversed the polarity of the neutron flow... Now to find a way to exterminate Melody Cool and Rosie Gaines...

I hearya, it's a totally awesome song ... very agressive and raw. Needs to be played loud. Love it.
