1999 album copy of kraftwerk music? i have been in proces of listening "1999 cd">,
and i have noticed that all of the songs except 1999 song ,del;irius and little red corvette are directly under the heavy inspiration of kraftwerk's music. prince never did again album with this kind aprouch. i mean on stuff like long repetitive jams, guitars not used like solo instrument, but like something that will feel the spaces, keybord simple lines. i meant to say its way to simple record for prince record. its sound is pure kraftwerk. did prince listen heavy to kraftwerk music?

I've actually always heard Gary Numan and certain 'new wave' in general.

No! Prince's keyboards had a loose funky feel. Look at Dirty Mind. P was jamming, while Kraftwerk were giving is "The Model". Kraftwerk were much more clinical in their delivery. .

very true. the only similarity between kraftwerk and prince are their frequent use of synthesizers...other than that, they're as different as night and day.

That's funny, I just watched Andre Cymone's video of "What are We Doing Here" and the music reminded me of Kraftwerk, or Depeche Mode or even early Human League.

I remember reading that on the Dirty Mind club tour, on the UK shows whilst over here, he heard stuff like Gary Numan, Soft Cell, The Human League etc, and that led to the more electronic sound of Controversy and 1999. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'm a sucker for a major chord
