Help: Mixtape for my boss!

Hey all,
I’m an intern at a magazine here in London. We always have music playing in the office and the other day the Editor put on SOTT. He said him and another one of the guys were getting back into Prince and trading CDs– they all know I’m a fan but I never play P in the office because I know how it can offend some people…
Anyway, being the ass-kisser I am, I’ve decided to make the Editorial a mixtape (well CD, really) of unreleased, boots, live tracks and b-sides. My favourite tracks aren’t necessarily the most accessible or suitable for someone who’s never really appreciated the variety of P’s back catalogue…so I need your help, orgers! Which tracks have I missed out, should remove etc etc. I would have loved to include ‘In All My Dreams’ and ‘Splash’ but I think I may have deleted the files by mistake (dammit!). Here’s the tracklisting (in no particular order);

1. Crystal Ball
2. She’s Always In My Hair
3. Bob George
4. How Come U Don’t Call..
5. Irresistible Bitch
6. Crucial / Dream Factory (can’t decide)
7. Moonbeam Levels
8. 17 Days
9. Empty Room ’95
10. Cindy C
11. Old Friends 4 Sale
12. Dorothy Parker (It Ain’t Over)
13. Rebirth Of The Flesh

Yes, also - 'girl of my dreams / we can funk / data bank'

I'd swap 'dorothy parker'(it aint over) for 'joy in repetition' (it aint over)

And depending how much swearing is allowed in the office:
days of wild
count the days
exodus has begun (I know these last 2 are album tracks but they'll be unknown to new P fans)

there's too many...

If you're sticking to unreleased tracks, b-sides
and largely 80's material

I'd keep 'Crystal Ball' and 'She's Always In My Hair'
on there, 'Bob George' may be a bit weird 4
4 some people, but going for shock tactics could work so that could stay too.

I'd swap 'Cindy C.' with some funky outtake like
'Data Bank', 'Chocolate' or 'We Can Funk' or something
like that. I wouldn't be able to make up my mind about
whether to include 'Dorothy Parker' or 'Joy In Repetition'.

Both '17 Days' and 'Irresistable Bitch' i'd
keep, swap 'Rebirth Of The Flesh' with 'Extra Lovable'.
'Old Friends 4 Sale' can stay as long as it's the original.

'Moonbeam Levels', 'Empty Room' and 'HCUDCMA' can all stay on there,
and i'd pick 'Crucial' over 'Dream Factory' - adding to the number of ballads.

no bootleg mix tape/cd can ever be complete without I Wonder on there.
imho.
Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!
woot!

Cool! Thanks guys. Am definitely going to put EXtraloveable, OLd Friends (original) and Databank on there. I wanted to put a jazz version of Dorothy Parker on but, unfortunately, the one from It Ain't Over is the only one I have... I have the version from the Leno show but the sound is crap.
As for Bob George, I just wanted to show P's humourous side - everyone seems to think he takes himself so seriously. If there's space left, I'll squeeze in some cuts from Exodus.
THanks again!

I wouldn't start the tape off with "Crystal Ball" cuz you
know beforehand that 4 minutes into the track people are
gonna go "what the hell is this shit, how long is this song
gonna go on for, can't we listen to Britney instead?"

I'd start with some nice catchy short songs, like oh, I
don't know "She's Always In My Hair", "Greatest Romance"
etc. Then slowly but surely move into more experimental
territory toward the end of the disc. But keep it light
and throw in the odd pop-single-ish tune.
and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

Not at all! I know the lyrics are a bit banal, but the drums and guitar on it are awesome.
