oops! sorry for that brief interlude lol but they played Do Me Baby and they have been playing it as of late almost on the regular Do Me Baby--the album version..is Princes greatest ballad. Fuck Adore. This was th e orignal panny dropper so to speak and the sound, while cheesy strip joint piano etc, is heaven. The vocal..I hate what he has done with it live...but the Do Me Baby is where he learned to freak the slow jam and he did it on this one first and did it here on Do Me Baby best... god it sounds so good...esp on the radio, oh oh on the radio radio radio... I agree that it is the first of Prince's pantie wetters. This is the model in which all of his ballads must measure up 2. Adore is more heavenly and spiritual. This is sleazy. But it is the template 4 ALL Prince ballads! Yoda Luminous beings are we...not this crude matter.

(in my best Brooklyn accent) Get the outta here! Adore wipes the floor with Do Me Baby. Adore was about the love thang while Do Me Baby is just pure . All that acting & is just unnecessary. "Do Me Baby" was the beginning, but the jouney has taken us to "Adore".

While I wouldnt say "fuck Adore", I will say that Do Me Baby is still the quintessential Prince ballad. Those of us who are old enough to remember getting that teenage grind to this song will agree. Only Prince could do such nasty sex dialogue without saying anything. A classic 4ever

I gave my pal a mix CD with some of my favourite Prince songs on it, you know, just to see if he'd like it. Anyway, he claims that he got his Nat King Cole by playing Do Me Baby to a girl he brought home from work. Said he stuck on the CD and this was 5 tracks in , so the wine had begun to work and voila!! He apparantly finished up during Last December which was the last track no.19, so the whole story is probably shit knowing him “If I can shoot rabbits/then I can shoot fascists”

The point that I think is missing in this argument is that it is a journey. Prince has grown in the way he loves, his understanding of love and his spirituality.
Do Me Baby IS a love song. Have none of you ever been so in love that you lose control just as the feeling this song invokes and that Prince portrays. Interesting also that Adore also featured heavily during the Lovesexy shows. Adore takes the level of love up a notch, a feeling difficult to describe but summed up in the word Lovesexy. Glam Slam explains it further. This thing we got - it's alive! It seems 2 transcend the physical One touch and I'm satisfied Must be a dream it's so magical We have gone from the physical feelings that love instills to the lovesexy feeling that is above and beyond the physical. Have you never made love to someone, given your absolute all and felt that feeling that you had just shared more than making love? Damnit I cannot find the right words to explain this but hopefully someone will understand and perhaps find a better way. In the distance a light shines and I know it is mine. Someday I will touch it because it calls me. It says cross the line, cross the line. I know everything is not always what it seems, so I pinch myself daily just in case it's a dream

Because he didn't tour SOTT in the USA, and the Lovesexy tour evolved out of the aborted USA SOTT tour. I agree Prince evolved, but the end result is not always as satisfying as the journey I respect the fact we all have different opinions, but as of Nov.2003, I saw Prince's musical journey was better than the destination. // [This message was edited Tue Nov 18 17:42:16 PST 2003 by Romance1600] ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Lovesexy did NOT evolve out of SOTT. Lovesexy was a direct result of the Black album. SOTT was the start of a journey that Prince was embarking on but one where he didn't know where he was going and was looking for the answers. Lovesexy he had the answers and he knew where he was going. Welcome to the New Power Generation - the reason my voice is so clear is there's no smack in my brain. Translation... i'd have to agree with you NuPwrSoul (and rdhull and hands, etc.)... i have always loved Adore, but Do Me, Baby is the song that features when thinking of sex. standing in silence, waiting for you lover to return to the room... then piano-slide intro (and that damn bass thump!). you smile, slowly turn around and see him staring at your from across the room... yeah... Do Me, Baby is the "No, I'm not that mysterious. I'm a pretty open book. People who know my music, I would say know me." - Prince, Today Show 3/15/04
