Chaos & Disorder [Early Version/Tracklist???]

I've heard it mentioned a few times before that C&D has
gone through a few changes before it was released.

I wouldn't know which ones since it was reported to've
been written/compiled/recorded in just over 7 days.

Anyway, someone once mentioned "Same December" being on
a gold-experience era tape [back in 93/94] so since a
few of those songs had been kicking around for a few
years, perhaps this album WAS a bit different to start
with??

No idea. Anyone??

I have boots from the Love Symbol Tour (1993ish) Where Prince plays guitar licks from Chaos and Disorder, he also does a few new tunes (at that time) Endorphine Machine, Come, The Dark, Race. So those tunes are probably old.
All the gals say hoe if your man's giving up the gold. All the fellas say ruff if you're only giving up the bone.

No, there wasn't any earlier versions of Chaos And Disorder.
But some of the tracks did appear on earlier versions of other
albums like The Gold Experience, Come and The Undertaker.

Betcha "Damned if I Do" would have fit well into that album

Which tracks?

Apart from a 30-second version of Zannalee on The Undertaker, I don't know what C&D tracks appeared on earlier versions of other albums.

That was a really exciting time to be a Prince fan...

Quite a few of the C&D riffs appeared in earlier shows in one form or another. The main riff from the Title track featured heavily in the Gold Tour, as a break between several songs, especially around "The Jam".

Regardless of what P say, Chaos was a full new album, rather than a throw together of old tracks, as you can tell from what he was forming live, the year before. He just contemplated whether to release it or not.

Chaos and Disorder, Right The Wrong, The Same December and Zanalee are from 93-94.
He revamped Zanalee, and re-recorded the others, but in the end decided to go with the original versions.

An early version of The Gold Experience had the following tracklist:

1. Chaos And Disorder
2. Listen 2 The Rhythm
3. Now
4. Right The Wrong
5. Acknowledge Me
6. Ripopgodazippa
7. The Most Beautiful Girl In The World
8. 319
9. Shy
10. Billy Jack Bitch
11. I Hate U
12. Gold

Listen 2 The Rhythm was renamed as The Rhythm Of Your Heart and released on Mayte's album. The heartbeat sound at the end of Chaos And Disorder is actually the beginning of Listen 2 The Rhythm.

Yeah, I've never heard of that configuration of TGE before. This is very interesting...
