Anyone heard the "Melbourne Funk Invasion" boot? Just heard it (please don't ask me where or how...this is the Org!!), and it has totally rekindled my own personal purple flame. No confusion, no tears. No enemies, no fear. No sorrow, no pain. No ball, no chain.

OK, this is the org...
But what about the quality?

Quality sounds good to me...I'm listening to an mp3, and I know many people hate those, but most of my Prince live collection is in that format, which is A-OK in my book. The copy I have is supposedly remastered, whatever that means, and it's 256kbps. Sounds mighty purty to my off-work-for-Veteran's-Day,-God-I-love-my-government-job ears.
I'm pleased to report that Prince apparently thinks it's okay in Jehovah's eyes to get down with Martha in his dirty little cage. Aw, yeah. *The "Yes, this is from the Melbourne show on 10.22.03" edit.* [This message was edited Tue Nov 11 5:22:14 PST 2003 by theblueangel] No confusion, no tears. No enemies, no fear. Listening to a jazzed-up, 8:42 version of Sign O' The Times right now. WHERE'S HIS GUITAR!? Okay, so there are some cracks in this concert, but still... No confusion, no tears. No enemies, no fear. No sorrow, no pain. No ball, no chain.

To my recollection the quality isn't all that well. But the boot of 21 Oct (Melbourne the day before) is even worse! ... AT least the copy I have... Anyway had the same experience? 555-4444 you're on coffee talk.

Yes, the 10/21 boot is virtually unlistenable. In fact, I just deleted it off my small-as-my-balls hard drive.
I still say the quality on the Funk Invasion "remastered" boot is pretty impressive. No confusion, no tears. No enemies, no fear. No sorrow, no pain. No ball, no chain.

I still say the quality on the Funk Invasion "remastered" boot is pretty impressive. The 10/21 soundquality was indeed very bad. I had it on my puter for a few days but then I just threw it all off since it was doing my head in. Half the instruments were inaudible. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

Chezzie - please don't take this as a NPGMC-style "wrist slap," but remember that it's against the rules to discuss the procurement of bootlegs on the org. No confusion, no tears. No enemies, no fear. No sorrow, no pain. No ball, no chain.

my puter for a few days but then I just threw it all off since it was doing my head in. Half the instruments were inaudible. Exactly...and the other half of the instruments sound like an orchestra of kazoos. Ouch. No confusion, no tears. No enemies, no fear. No sorrow, no pain. No ball, no chain.

Yep, 21/10 is terrible but the 22/10 is fairly good, although I have not listened to the 'remastered' version.

Yeah, I gots it and I must say it sounds pretty good for an audience recording. Too bad its like half the show, but its still nice hearing new versions of old songs again. THat other Melborne show sounds horrible though, I jsut heard the first track though.
