Lots of inane JW dogma-induced lyrics, plenty of jazz/funk rambling cack, an annoying voiceover, one brilliant guitar solo, a few novelty tracks, more rambling, a "concept" that doesn't work, and not a "motherfucker" in sight.
TRC part 2, in other words.  Lemmy, Bowie, Prince, Leonard. RIP. |

Well from what I hear of Musicology, he's still on his retro vibe.
That's all very nice, I always look forward to a new Prince album, but I'm not really bothered about "real" instruments and such at the moment. Still even on his most feaces-covered albums, Prince always manages to shit our at least one or two tracks worthy of repeat listening, so I'm eager to see what the first 'proper' album release since TRC is gonna be. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I expect something like TRC, but WITHOUT the religious mumbo jumbo! It's quite obvious from his recent setlists and new songs that he has gotten this out of his system and is now prepared to make fun again:
