The Gold Experience - THE Only Analysis That Matters

Seeing as though we are analysising LP's, eye thought eye'd share wit U all my view on prince's / Prince's best album of the 90's and what should have been his best album - ever

Track Listing -

P Control
NPG Operator
Endorphinmachine
Shh
We March
NPG Operator
The Most Beautiful Girl In The World
Dolphin
NPG Operator
Now
NPG Operator
319
NPG Operator
Shy
Billy Jack Bitch
eye Hate U
NPG Operator
Gold

because of their boring nature, eye will not include the NPG Operator trax

P Control
Cool little rap tune. Like DOW teaches U 2 respect women
Not my favourite track but still a good tune

Endorphinmachine
Love this song! That guitar roaring at the beginning is great and that piercing scream near the end - wow! cool guitar solo aswell. one of the best trax, why wasn't it released as a single!?!

Shh
Gotta love that Michael B drumming at the beginning. One of the most underrated P songs. Definatly one of his best of the 90's. Mixes rock and ballad. Riproaring guitar - great live!

We March
My least favourite track. eye find it quite weak - perhaps cuz of nona and sonny in the background, but still betta thatn half of NPS.

The Most Beautiful Girl In The World
Sugar coated? Yes
Radio Friendly? Yes
Brilliant? Hell Yeah! This ballad is betta than any of them on Emancipation. Prince one and only no.1 in the UK.

Dolphin
Another great little roc track. eye was like WHOA omg when eye first heard that guitar solo. eye like the video - was it ever released as a single? should have been.

Now
this track has some serious ttitude, specially @ the end.
nice little rap, but nothing beats this live. the music is delightful organised utter chaotic mess - eye like it!

319
raw, stripped down prince funk. 'coustic guitar in middle reminds me of kiss.

Shy
killer track. possibly the best on the album. love the lyrics, the music and just everything else

Billy Jack Bitch
love the horns on this one. that 'bitch' sample cracks me up

eye Hate U
great balled. maybe the best on the album. some ppl say the dialogue bit in the middle is cheesy, but adds to the song. and that guitar 2 end it. the best guitar solo on this album worship

Gold
a strong title/closing song. lyrically it is fantastic and that final guitar solo is awe-inspiring.

i think
Shy
BJB and
eye hate U
are true masterpieces and make this album what it is. u can hear is anger in the last 2 dat is directed @ WB.
can u think of 3 other greats songs that fit 2gether so well? eye think not

but eye can't help but wonder wot cud have been if the track list was like this:

P Control
Interactive
Endorphinmachine
Acknowledge Me
Shh
The Most Beautiful Girl In The World
Dolphin
Days Of Wild
Now
Race
319
Pheromeone
18 & Over
Ripogodazippa
Shy
Billy Jack Bitch
eye Hate U

"The Gold Experience [Warner Bros., 1995]
After two or three plays, convinced that "P Control" and "Endorphinmachine" slam harder than any hip hop I've heard in years, I shrugged and recalled that, after all, I already knew he was the most gifted recording artist of the era. But this album documents more than professional genius rampant--all of them do that. This album is a renewal. It's as sex-obsessed as ever, only with more juice--"Shhh" and "319" especially pack the kind of porno jolt sexy music rarely gets near and hard music never does. And you'd best believe "Shhh" and 319" are hard--not for years has the auteur (as opposed to some hired gat) sounded so black, and not for years has the guitarist sounded so rock. As for the ballads, they suffer only by their failure to dominate. One of them has already stormed the radio--and another, good for him, takes too many risks to follow. A"

All you others say Hell Yea!! woot!
