VERY GREAT SCOOP OR LIES! From a contact from New york!
I give u This (No joke from Me) But i don't Know if it's True or only Bullshit ?? The plan for 2004: Every Warner Brothers Prince cd will be re-released exclusively by Universal Music. All cd's will be completely remastered using the 24k bit system, all cd's will come with a 24 page full color booklet featuring new pictures of Prince and commentary written about each album, and each album will have 7 unreleased tunes included during the sessions at the time of when each album was recorded and written ! So for example with " For You," from 1978, Prince will include," Miss U," " Donna," " Soft and Wet ( remix version," and so on... Then in June of 2004 Purple Rain will be re-released onto dvd fully remastered by Universal Music including 2 live performances re- edited back into the film and some deleted short scenes too. The cd will be a 2 cd set including 7 tunes added to the soundtrack album, a full color booklet with new pictures of Prince never seen and from that era, and a remastered soundtrack that will sound better than ever!! Also the NPGMC is now advertising a 7 cd set of every tune that was a part of the NPGMC from year ONE- NOW ! It will be called," The Chocolate Invasion". One of the cd's will be," Xpectation," featuring a bonus track of the studio version of " Xenophobia." The other cd's will be all the tunes from the first year the NPGMC was open for business. ( You know all of the monthly downloads) The War will be included too!! The C-Note live rehearsal tracks that Prince allowed all of the members to download for free who were in the club last January too, everything even "Reflection!!" Also there will be a brand new Prince studio vocal cd that will be released featuring all new tunes by Prince in 2004. Right now he is shooting a video for the new song," Musicology," which will be on the new upcoming cd!! I think he made the right choice in dealing with a record company again.

How many copies of 'For You' do you think they'd shift? not many, i'd bet. This is a non-starter.
Multi-million sellers tend to get remastered treatment, and artistic greats like SOTT. This is bullshit i reckon.

What a dilemna. I don't know whether to orgasm at the prospect, or scream at the irony of the bullshit.

Multi-million sellers tend to get remastered treatment, and artistic greats like SOTT. This is bullshit i reckon. Look at Bowie's successful "Sound+Vision" re-issue series from the early '90s. Getting the deluxe re-issue treatment blew new life into albums like 'Pin-Ups' and other titles that had become all but neglected at the time by fans and collectors. I don't think this news is true, but if it is, it would be the smartest thing I've heard from the Purple Dimension in a long time.

Rather than re-master and release the old albums with some unreleased songs added, I think I would be cool if he would release several compilation cds that contained unreleased songs from each year. That would be a great new collection to have. cracknbush

I remember back a few years ago when people were actually creative when they posted false new tracklists, etc.
This is the best you could do? Next time, try something that might seem plausible for 5 seconds or more. No Candy 4 Me

where did this info come from, and didn't someone say that prince gets the ownership of his masters back in 2004?
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Prince is not smart enough to do something like that.. or agree for that..
We're dealing with Prince here.

This would be great...but unfortunately all the good stuff never completely comes true. Plus...where would WB play in all this...

Man... There's cynical mamma jammas here...
...Though I understand. This sounds like it could be VERY TRUE...a great idea. The only way it could happen would be if Warner Bros had NO rights to any material, including artwork... OR: They're gettin' a cut. I would get nearly every release, as all of my older P Stuff is on vinyl... having unreleased tracks from each era along with the original album would be PHATTT. G. Sounds like a another great idea that will never materialize. Too bad.

TimeWarner is looking for a buyer for its music division.
Universal Music looks like the front runner at this point. Warner Bros could be bought by someone & then cease to exist. Warner Bros may soon be out of the picture.

i think WB would rather hang themselves instead of givin' any $ 2 the man.
and prince would commit suicide b4 he goes near his "slave owners". sorry 2 burst bubbles but it ain't gonna happen we can wait 4 the 100th anniversary though jk ignorance isnt bliss its....its......its.......a another bit word.......

No, each album reverts back to him a certain number of years after it was released, so For You will revert back first, followed by additional albums as years continue to pass. I forget the exact number of years involved, but I think it was around 30 or 35, so I don't think anything reverts back for a while. The only way this idea could possibly happen in 2004 is if TimeWarner sells its music division to Universal and Prince decides to do it. Even then though, I highly doubt Prince would release many of his outtakes unless they are consistent with his current religious beliefs (which eliminates most of the good ones). In addition, I seriously doubt Prince would willingly release remasters of his old albums without editing the lyrical content. Anyone who thinks an unedited remastered Dirty Mind/Controversy/1999 is coming out anytime during his lifetime (absent him loosening up quite a bit) is kidding themselves. No Candy 4 Me

If we took all these bogus reports from people who claim to have an inside source, we could publish a book of them at the end of each year.
