Pagey

I only say Dream Factory because its new to me (as of last year) so it seems fresh. However if I hadn't heard Sign until last year I'd probably say SOTTs. But I love All My Dreams, Moviestar, & A Place in Heaven and think SOTTs is weaker w/out those cuts.

nice answer to the question!

... at least u dropped the capslock

Probably SOTT to answer your question

All My Dreams withstands just about every song listed in both those albums though, so either way I guess

Anxiety

I think if Dream Factory were the official release and SOTT were the bootleg "what if" version, I'd probably be droolin' all over SOTT instead.

But SOTT doesn't have "Train", so it's really a hard call...

I did that in an npgmc chat one of the first days their new
site was up and I was still impressed with it and actually
thought we could discuss things in the chat

neutral

I tried to ask a question but everyone was just on this far
out bible-trip so I put on the caps-lock and PP7 or PP8 told
me

"There's No need to shout IstenSzek"

I knew right then and there that this was gonna get sticky.

It's a difficult one ain't it - It's like choosing between Housequake/Forever In My Life and All My Dreams.

hmmm

I'd take Camille over both of 'em lol

Ide say SOTT, but ide be happy for him to swap out the SOTT version of Strange Relationship for the one on Dream factory. That said the remastered DF is a far more balanced affair...

Nah, SOTT by a nose smile

Do you even know the true offical track listing of Dream Factory? How can you compare SOTT to it when you don't even know what songs were on it? Or are you just comparing SOTT to a bootleg compilation? Or did Per Nilsen uncover the original track listing and you are using that?

The last configuration made:

> The Dream Factory
side one:
1. Visions
2. Dream Factory
3. Train
4. The Ballad Of Dorothy Parker
5. It

side two:
1. Strange Relationship
2. Starfish & Coffee
3. Slow Love
4. I Could Never Take The Place Of Your Man

side three:
1. Sign O' The Times
2. A Place In Heaven
3. Crystal Ball

side four:
1. The Cross
2. Last Heart
3. Witness 4 The Prosecution
4. Movie Star
5. All My Dreams

As you can see, it has a big cross-over with SOTT.

"Dream Factory" by a landslide...
"Sign O' The Times" is a mess...

Dream Factory is great, but come on, SOTT sweeps the floor with that album. I couldn't picture Prince releasing that body of work in any other way than thru SOTT. It would be like The Beatles releasing "A Doll's House" instead of The White Album.

How can there be any "floor sweeping" when more than half of the album ended up on SOTT???

It's funny. I like both, but would have to listen to both again to make a choice.

My gut feeling says SOTT though, as it was the delivered product. The sleeve in hands, the art design, pictures...
Uhm.

Musically I like someone calling SOTT messy, while DreamFactory was even more all over the place. Sign Of The Times was sequensed in a GRAND way.
