I hate a few songs off the Gold Experience.

"Now"
"Billy Jack Bitch" (i do see the homour in it, but it does ruin things)

There are a handful. There weren't many from the 80's but they started to add on in the mid 90's.

A lot of folks are really harsh around here, describing Prince songs as "shit". I would never go that far. I would admit that some songs he has made aren't as good as others, but I don't think he has put out a song that didn't have some kind of value to it, you know?

I can't think of any songs of his that I outright hate altogether, but the closest I could come to that would probably be "When We're Dancing Close and Slow". I just have never gotten any enjoyment out of listening to that song. I'm also not too crazy over most of the "Kamasutra" disc.

Jeeez, "Now" is a great song.

I like Hypnoparadise...it sounds like cheesy Love Boat/Hart to Hart music and it makes me laugh. Underneath the Cream is okay enough...Gangster Glam I'll give ya, even though I don't mind the track...but I LOATHE the video.

I try to reserve my loathing for steaming logs like "Arms of Orion" and some of the pap on NPS and Emancipation...but hey, there are even some people who like THAT.

With time passing by there will be more songs I dislike than that I love ...

The first song Prince has released I really don't like is "Slow Love" ...
for that reason this song is one of my most unfavourite.

But after LoveSexy there are a numerous songs released I don't like.
But it won't stop me adoring the good times!

You know what, I HATE the sped up and slowed down vocals Prince has insisted on. It makes most of SOTT unlistenable to me, ruins a great record. I have the 12" of Kiss, and I used to play the B-side "love or money" a bit slowed down on the record player so the vocal sounded normal. Mind you, I have loved live versions of songs which I couldn't listen to before, so it's not really the songs. Song I really hate? Solo.

I'm not a big fan of the "Come" album. I've never been able to listen to it the whole way through.

Pretty much at any given time there are songs that you simply can't listen to. Either for the memories they stir up or the way they make you feel when you listen to them but I have to say that I never ever listen to 200 Balloons. Dunno why but it just grates on me.

Although I will get specific. Alot of the unreleased material from the 90's SUCK. As does some of the released stuff.

But the thing I cannot stand is The Rainbow Children. I aplaude Prince doing something he believes in, the fact he wants to point his fans to something he lives for, but as an atheist I hate the constrictions that breathe through his lyrics. (The music on that album was grrreat.)
And where his women unfriendliness did not bother me alot before, I thought songs like She Wants Me 4 Me (I am not even sure that is the right title) and the blandness on One Nite Alone (not the entire album) were shocking.

Remarks during the live concerts like "Leave that blood alone" makes an avid blood donor entousiast (I organize drives) like myself rather angry.

The rather singular views of many people in religions just drives me up the wall..

But back to the music. I hate Diamnonds And Pearls, Nothing Compares 2 U and I Love U In Me most. Why? Bland. And the first and last are such wailers. They are my "I am getting a beer" moments.

I have only one song that I dislike and that's Solo from the Come CD. I recently read the lyrics to the song very beautiful but the way he sings it I hate that. I can't bring myself to listen to it. Maybe oneday I will follow along with the lyrics but until then, that's the only song that I will not listen to.

Fine, whatever, I couldn't give a rat's ass about this particular theological statement. The scary part is when Prince says "there's no room to disagree"!!! Hello!!! There should ALWAYS be room to disagree, at least when you're talking about religion. Unless you dig Bin Laden and his friends. Talmudic studies teach you that, for instance. So my point is, Prince's intolerance is pretty scary, even more so when it somehow ruins a beautiful LP such as TRC.

And yes, Diamons and Pearls is such a blatant evidence of Prince's ability to flirt with bad bad taste!
