Not sure if Prince was to be in the video, but I heard that Prince declined because he was supposed to sing the line, "Your butt is mine", in MJ's song. Prince didn't like that line, so he turned down MJ's offer. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

LOL!!! This was of cause discussed in an interview with Chris Rock. I always think Prince is pretty cool and dry when asked about Michael Jackson. When asked in an interview who he think would win a fist fight between them both, Prince laughed and replied, 'Well Michael is a lover not a fighter'! ehehe, cool response!

I just love Prince's sense of humor. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

In the Chris Rock interview after Emancipation came out,
Prince said something like, "The first line of that song is "Your butt is mine". Now I'm not saying that to you, and you damn sho' ain't saying that to me!".."Right there we have a problem."... It was pretty funny. [This message was edited Tue Nov 4 16:35:53 PST 2003 by cracknbush] cracknbush

Ok, This is the story. Michael Jackson and Quincy Jones wanted to work with Prince, and MJ composed Bad as a duet with Prince. But Prince didn't want to work with him (he also refused to sing in We are the World song, and gave to the project "4 The Tears In Your Eyes") with for this reason we can't know how it was the sogn with both singers.
It's funny that in Moonwalker film, the "little" Michael Jackson asked about Bubbles when he finishes to make "Badder" video, and one of the members of the stuff said something like "he's wearing a Prince T-shirt".

After the original meet that Quincy arranged (Prince thrashed Michael at Table Tennis by all acounts!)
Prince and Michael spoke a number of times on the phone - supposedly Michael's management wanted 2 orchestrate a public 'feud' between the pair, and the song and video would be recorded in tight secrecy, then released on an (supposedly unsuspecting, but receptive) public 2 mass hysteria and acclaim. At least, that was Michael's camp's plan. Quincy sent the demo 2 Prince who listened 2 it - and didnt call back. Quincy phoned Prince and asked him what he thought, Prince told him he didnt want anything 2 do with it. When Quincy told a disheartened Michael, all he said was: 'figures...'

Yep, he says "Is Bubbles in my trailer?" "Yes sir." "What's he wearing?" "A Prince T-shirt and red sneakers." *disgusted* "PRINCE T-shirt???" lol

Did Prince jump over the net after his victory? If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

I'm still tripping on a line in "Purple Reign" that says something to the effect of Prince hitting on Latoya while dining at Michael's home with various others in the Jackson clan. Is this true? If so, this is some funny shit. Can you imagine Michael wanting to talk business with Prince while he's busy undressing Latoya and suiting her up in lingerie.

I'm sure there are a lot of variations to the story, on the re-issue of Mike's "BAD" album in the special interview with Quincy Jones at the end of the album, "Q" stated that they had sent a demo to Prince and his opening line was "Your But is Mine" and then various change overs between he and Mike.
Later Quincy called Prince back and Prince simply said "You don't need me to be on this, it will be a hit without me". Of course I'm sure "P" was to busy to bother with it and the video shoot and it was just a way of letting them down easy. It's been said that "P" didn't care for the "BAD" album at all and and he was releasing "SOTT" that year also and I guess he pretty much didn't want to be bothered. "P" was also pissed when he didn't win a grammy for album of the year for "SOTT" *********************************************
I'll believe it when I see it

I can see "Bad" as a prince song but SPEED DEMON is a compltete ripoff of Prince's style. The only part that sounds like a JAckson trademark is his background vocal track. Otherwise the whole beat and guitar riffs are heavily Prince sounding to me..Good song though... ______________________________________________
