Jeez! You seen these things on ebay?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/...egory=1057

Perhaps it's time to ask for a pay rise?

Don't it make you drool?

yeah i have bene watchin them

sadly most of them are fakes, vsome good ones, some not so good , but still fakes.

and even more suspicious is it is a private auction so nobody can warn the bidders what they are buying is trash.

and on top of that a pretty low feedback rating

all equals disaster.

no I won't drool just yet, I will just feel sorry for the people who don't know any better and actually buy this shit

Funny how nobody never knew these items even existed then like 10 of them come up on ebay all from the same person as a 'private' auction -- yeah right...

all too suspicious for my liking.

Yeah, but if his source really is a music industry insider, then it's conceivably possible they could be real. Companies like WB hire & fire on all levels on a regular basis and people who work at big labels do pick up some expensive habits.

I agree with FunkyStrange. Not worth the risk at those prices.

This is so strange! I just found out about these yesterday and was going to start a thread asking if anyone knew anything about the Da, Da, Da remixes. I saw that single on Sleevographia and had never heard of it before.

Ok, something VERY strange is happening here. The pictures & info etc. seemed reliable to me and I was bidding on all three (TMBGITW Remixes, SOTT Medley Promo, Come).

Moreover, I didn't see any of the hardcore collector's responding to the threads on these items. Which again made me believe they're are bidding too and intended to avoid too much attention.

All three items have been cancelled and withdrawn now - the TMBGITW set within the very last second.

I previously contacted the seller for info on other items and Holly sent me to other fotos of a 10 track mastering reference for MNIP remixes (some of which unreleased) and a CD promo for Face Down (live in NYC).

I'm not able to put them online at the moment but maybe I can send those to someone who can. (anyone?)

Also I'll try to contact Holly again. Quite suspicious. If he/she's trying to make more money out of it... well, I guess confidence in him/her is very low now around here.

T? Do you have any info? Someone else?

I am not surprised - this was suspect from the start.

...now this is a useful thread, I mean those prices and pictures say it all, totally suspect to me.

So lets stay vigilant orgers! Flipping 'eck, can't believe those prices for those discs, what a rip off.

Or, am I missing something?

Not really sure about whether it would have been a rip off. You know, after all Holly did *not* sell (at least to those bidding).

Which means she is either

- not sure anymore about the items' genuine character (no matter if she tried to rip off or was ripped off herself)
- or the sold them as a lot to someone else (Madhouse, Esprit, private collector... whomsoever).

By what I have heard and judging upon the initial email she sent me, I tend to believe she sold them as a lot (btw, besides the pictures of the MNIP mastering reference and Face Down CD she mentioned there are some more acetates as well as items by Madonna and David Bowie).

So, let's keep an eye on Esprit, Madhouse and the usual suspects. Yet I'm sure, if these thingies end up there, they'll be expensive as hell. The final bids will be nothing compared to prices there.

Another likely buyer is the bootlegger's industry... Anyone selling CDs with *several* genuine, unreleased, supreme quality mixes will easily be able to get back the expenses of a few thousand USD.

Just the items that were up for auction or that she mentioned to me include 2 unreleased remixes of TMBGITW, 4 of MNIP (albeit these most probably are only slightly different), plus the SOTT medley. Not to forget additional crystal clear versions of the original Interactive, Endorphinemachine and Strays Of The World mixes (which are already available elsewhere).

Btw, the 4 unreleased MNIP mixes (if the running times on the sleeve's photograph are correct) are *not* identical with two other unreleased edits (those featuring the alternate lyrics "on the 7th day he made _music_" 3:40/4:04).

The mastering reference's (PRO-CD-5770, gold disc) tracklist is:

1. Radio ID
2. Remix Edit - Dirty 5:06*
3. Remix Edit - Clean 5:06*
4. Original Mix Edit 8:04
5. Techno Club Mix 7:38*
6. Extended Mix 8:06
7. Hardcore 12" Mix 7:53
8. House Mix 7:16
9. 12" Club Mix 8:09
10. Alternative Club Mix 8:51*

The ones marked with an asterisk I didn't find on any release.

Are you the seller or a mug?

These are so fake, its a joke. Someone has tried to pull the wool over some poor bastards eyes and rip them off.

Are you really saying you believe a seller when they say industry insider???

Do you homework and research these out there and see if they are on some boots sites. There is plenty of info out there before you start bidding. nana

I did so... if you're sayin' these are already listed as fakes somewhere it would be a nice gesture (would have been even more in the beginning when they were still up for auction) to tell us where. I can't find them.

Well, when you look at the links now, they all show as having NOT sold.

Weird stuff.

Apparently the story continues... I thought Holly would have disappeared forever but there she is again on eBay. This time it's Madonna and the Pet Shop Boys:
