Rarely discussed outtakes - Here's a couple..

Dance with the Devil (from Batman) and It's a Wonderful Day. i love these songs, but never see them discussed much on here (like Moonbeam Levels, Wonderful Ass etc).

I wish Dance with the Devil had made the Batman album, it's so dark and moody. i don't suppose it'll ever see the light of day officially on anything (given P's religious leanings now) i wonder why it was left off anyway.

As, for it's a Wonderful day, well it's just a wonderful song! big grin

any outtakes you feel need more props?

Speaking of Batman outtakes, whats the tune that uses samples from the film over the Madhouse trac-18 (a girl and her puppy)?

Have you ever heard "Me Touch Myself" a song that was from the same period?

I just don't 'get' Dance With The Devil, I remember when I first got it, when it was released on the Moonraker bootleg of the same name, and I was majorly under-whelmed.

Maybe I should load it up in winamp, haven't heard it in years, maybe it will hit me.

As for It's A Wonderful Day, shrug - it's a bit of a filler, you can see why it was taken off the last configuration of Dream Factory.

Hmmm, not sure I've heard that.

You mean 19 I think (A Girl & Her Puppy) - It was renamed 'The Batman Theme' one of the tracks originally submitted for the project, maybe it's a version of that, or a bootleg? confuse

"The Batman Theme" is not circulating.
If there is a version out there containing Batman samples,
it's a fan-made thing (the actual track was rejected before
samples were added to any of the tracks).

I neva found it east to swollow that song "Dance With The Devil". Ok, here're underrated outtakes that shoulda been discussed:

1.If I Had A Harem(I love its breezy feel)

2.Girl O' My Dreams(It shoulda been longer)

3.Throught The Storm(It shoulda been in For You)

4.If I Love U Tonight(Gayle Chapman's version is a heartbreaker, that white woman got mo' soul than MOST of those young sistas out there).

5.Leaving 4 New York(My FAVE outtake)

6.Player(One of the BEST song in the D&P era).

7.Ol' Friends 4 Sale(I TRUELY love the old version, so many emotions involved in that song. The lata version is sooo sugarcoated IMO).

8.I Can't Love U Anymore(This piano ballad is a heartbreaker, lyrics are cheesy but the mood is depressing).

9.Make Believe(Shit, the whole I'll Do Anything LP is very tight produced).

10.Train

11.The song he did 4 Howard Hewet(I can't remember it) he shoulda kept it 4 himself.

12.I Hear Yo Voice(Patti did her share of delievering the song too).

13.Open Book(The VERY BEST song from D&P era. He's a stupid mofo 4 not including it. I'm curious to hear Jeveeta's version).

14.Purple Music(This song is so hypnotic, reminds me alot of All The Critics Love U In NY).

Thats all I could think of right now!

"Allegiance" took me a minute to get into, but it has a definite sexy feel that hypnotizes.

Nobody has mentioned "Love Thy Will Be Done." I think Prince sings the hell out of this song. His version is one of my favorite outtakes of all time.

I've always had a softspot for "Teacher, Teacher". One of
the last outtakes I didn't know yet.

Very cool tune. I must have listened to it over 100 times
in the first few weeks I got it.

It's strange tho, how these 3 songs from Dream Factory:
[Teacher, Teacher; Train; Wonderful Day] didn't go into
circulation until a few years ago.

They must have been out there for quite some time cuz I
can't imagine stuff like that leaking more than 10 years
after it was initially put to tape.

I Wonder

A gust of southern wind came and took my girl away from me
Now my tears could fill an ocean, my tears could fill a sea
I wonder if she thinks about me, I wonder

Many women come and go, they say my heart's uncarin' (Uncarin')
Maybe they don't hold me like she does (No they don't!)
No, it's unbearable
I wonder if she knows that I've turned down their hug and kissin'
Cuz it's her that I'm missin'
I wonder if she really knows, I wonder

CHORUS:
I wonder if she knows how much I love her
I wonder if she knows how much I need her face around
I wonder if she cares about me, I wonder

Well, go on and get it one time
Well, well, well, well

Maybe she'll come on Monday, then again maybe not
Maybe she'll let me get her excited, get her sweaty, get her hot
I wonder if I'll finally do what I've been dreamin' so long
I wonder if she knows that she is makin' love so strong (So strong)

I wonder what ground's below her, I wonder what sky's above
I wonder if she knows how much I extra absolutely, so complete and sweetly love her
I wonder if she knows how much I love her, I wonder

All the other girls I know are dumb, dumber than a post
But my girl knows everything (everything), I'm the king so I need 2 boast
Still I wonder if she'll really ever know (I wonder if she knows)

CHORUS {x2)

touched thumbs up! heart
Silence Speaks A Thousand Words.

I Wonder, Schoolyard and Witness.

I Wonder has a GREAT singalong vibe to it. Do it live and the crowd would know the words after the second verse.

Schoolyard just trips me out.

Witness always sets me off. It's STILL my favorite Prince song of all time. The solo. it's the solo baby.
