My vote is for alot of the Family LP specifically "Desire" and "High Fashion"

Second would be for "Splash" just a good Pop song .

Good Man

I quite like this tune. Reminds me a bit of a rocky Michael Jackson tune.

If there is a version out there containing Batman samples,
it's a fan-made thing (the actual track was rejected before
samples were added to any of the tracks).

Unless Im truly going out of my mind, a certain track does exist on the 3rd Volume of The Work.

...It's still a fake tho.

Some bootlegs are given way to much attention when the following ones don't really get enough:

Teacher Teacher
Strange Way of Saying I Love U
Make Believe (should've been included on 'The Vault')
Purple Music
Train (probably my favourite outtake)
Player
Old Friends For Sale (the other couple of versions)

Just because it appears on The Work doesn't alter the fact
that it's a fake (there's a couple of other fakes on The Work
as well as that one).

I'm curious 2 hear Prince's demo version of "The Screams Of Passion" that is the ONLY and BEST song from The Family IMHO!

Prince's version of "Desire" is absolute ecstasy. It makes me want to roll around on the floor, speaking in tongues and shuddering from multiple spontaneous climaxes. St. Paul cannot touch Prince's vocals on this track. :panty check:

That being said, I have a rehearsal of Prince doing "The Screams of Passion" (which I got from one of my very favoritest Orgers heart ) and I really like it. It's not a demo per se, as he doesn't sing the song all the way through. He's constantly stopping to give directions like "drop the organ out, okay, now just bass...okay, keys and drums" shit like that. I find it really fun to listen to, a kind of behind-the-scenes peek that sounds good too.

Hunh. I been waiting on MY copy of the Family-Prince demoes for nigh-on 5 months now. :panty check: well. hunh. hmm.

guess I gotta go find me a copy somewhere else. The Family is probably my favorite Prince project, Time notwithstanding (cuz, hey, that's a GIVEN).

Player is one of my favorites...very simple, but very moving and effective. I love the lines:

"I could take U sailing in a glass bottom boat
U could drink wine while I read poems that I wrote"

I also like Prince's duet with St. Paul on "High Fashion" that someone mentioned.

It's not...it's from an uncirculating video, the same video cassette that "Dance With The Devil" was taken from.

It's from an unreleased trailer for the Batman movie and features "The Batman Theme" aka "19 (A Girl & Her Puppy".

ONE fake, one which was pointed out and noted by UPTOWN and others, "If I Had A Harem" (acoustic).

I'm sure you know more than I do on such matters, but why would a trailer feature two complete songs - both rejected for the project at an early stage?

It's an UNRELEASED trailer, any early one that was synched to some Prince music that was eventually pulled.

That would be a pretty long trailer though.

And set to two of the tracks that were rejected?

I dunno, I'm just saying I never heard of this unreleased trailer that lasts for at least 12 and half minutes (the length of both said songs together in full).

Well it is a long trailer, since the audio on The Work was ripped off the video. The Batman theme is only 2 1/2 minutes.

Dance With The Devil is not a trailer for the movie.

Okie.

From what you said I gathered DWTD was part of the trailer audio.

You say it comes from the same video casette.

What was DWTD the audio to - footage from the movie?

Aside from all this Batman-era banter.

I have to agree with what someone said above that Player is a most fantastic track, one of Prince's finest widely-circulating out-takes.

I can only hope Prince regards it as highly as many of us do and puts on an official release some day, as a 1991 out-take (1990?) it truly is worthy of the legacy of his greatest 80's output.

SUCH a good tune! Wish he'd left out that middle rock section though. The parts before are so good, I was real disappointed when he kicked into that.

No, The Batman Theme is a video recording and is an unreleased movie trailer. Dance With The Devil is different, it's a video...but not a trailer for the movie.

Did you hear the copy of "Player" i gave out recently?
It was uploaded to the Prince binaries and can be found on The Hub.

This new source recording is almost spotless quality, i uploaded a wave file. Pass over any mp3 conversions you encounter and seek folks whom i gave it direct too.

It's like direct connect, fans doing peer to peer. You'll have to snoop around or get a private email from someone.
