That new Kelis song, "Milkshake" sounds familiar, don't it?

Think about it. The beat is very reminiscent of the Sign O' the Time's/Lovesexy. And it doesn't matter if the Neptunes put their stamp on it (I think hmmm. Did they produce that?), it's still nothing new. When I first heard that track, Lovesexy instantly popped in my head. Who's with me on this?

It reminded me of "Nasty Girl" a kind of part 2 to the other Neptunes' production, "Slave 4 U."

Yeah, when I first heard this I thought there was something very "Nasty Girl" about it.

Yes, this is why I am not impressed with the Neptunes--they haven't had a new idea since they produced Kelis's first album.

sounds like a similar use of toms like in "when doves cry" or "Darling Niki" or "forever in my life" mixed with the finger cymbals like you hear on "Around the World in a Day" or "Tambourine"

I agree. It took me a while to figure out that it was "Nasty Girl".

Maybe they're just using that "familiar" sound to parlay Kelis into the Britney status?? Look where it took her. =c)
