Batdance is the first Prince song I ever liked. Although, I was five at the time and thought it was actually by Batman.

All I know is that I never stopped bustin' from that day on.

I like the whole bloody album which is more than you can say for most of the prince flock.

As others have said the Vicki Vale breakdown part (and the Vicki Vale Remix) just sum up Prince for me. That funky little guitar scratch. The multi-layered vox on "Ooh Yeah. Ooh Yeah. I wanna bust that body..." the reference to another song "If a man is considered guilty..." Man! Gives me goosebumps just thinking about it.

I have been listening to this album a lot lately and particularly this song. Batdance is one crazy song. I remember not being too crazy about it when it came out...but this is one song that has suprisingly aged very well. That guitar solo in the beginning is fierce!

I remember hearing this on Casey Casem's top 40 here in the states. Mad record.. sounds like yellow smiley offered him X long before Lovesexy. It's a great tune but once I got the album, it was all about Lemon Crush.

I love that album, in my opinion it's underated and not well understood.
I adore Batdance, Scandalous, The Arms of Orion, and Vicky Waiting (with this song I imagine Prince playing in Manhattan or somthing like that).
And of course, I like Trust, Electric Chair and Party man (a pity, too long).
The songs I dislike are The future and Lemon Crush (specially this one).

It's Prince's 'Bo Rhap'! SO much going on in that song. Love it - the original mix is cool too.

What I like about Batdance is that its lack of flow and deliberate disjointment allows the listener 2 get a real taste 4 the film. The clever and interesting use of samples and its feel and rhythm demands that its played loud!!

4 those Batdance and 4 that matter fans of the film itself, U may like an unreleased track which uses samples from the film cut in with the Madhouse track-19 (A Girl and Her Puppy). Thats if U havent heard/got it already of cause. The name of this track escapes me and I probably have got my facts wrong but Im 70% sure Im right!! ehehehe! If I can find it, I'll let y'all know!

This is one of the tracks that showcases Prince's genius the most. Those sound bits from the movie sound like they were created for the song because he incorporates them so well. The video is pure Prince. The Gemini thing, the good vs. evil with the flare for the kitch. It's classic!
