I have come to this conclusion

Prince is, was, and will always be about THE FUNK!!! headbang

I'm hearing folks asy now that he's lost it, but I don't think so. As long as his heart's still beating, he will always keep it funky!!!

Now, the Red Hot Chili Peppers on the other hand...

The Peppers did loose their Funk but they're still cool

Prince, to me, is still one of the funkiest musicians around, it's his current non-funky backing band I have a problem with...

The Revolution weren't that funky, apart from the medical get-up of Dr. Fink, but wtf? Back in the day Prince was the single most funkiest person ever. Now, he's a bit older, takes more showers, and needs to hire in some of the funk to balance it out a bit - whatever people say about how groovy the Rev were, the funk was really ALL down to Prince. Folks are confusing non-funky with old-school-over-played-JB-style-funky that he needs now for the support. I'm sure everyone here agrees though that Prince is the funkiest person around to do their thing 'these days'...although I understand Bootsy still gigs, but I've never seen.
