I'm with you too. As good as ONA 3 "It Ain't Over" is...Lovesexy still kills it.
All the gals say hoe if your man's giving up the gold. All the fellas say ruff if you're only giving up the bone.

The thing is...if we didn't have access to a lot of good bootleg live stuff. We would be thinking this cd is the best thing. But we've been spoilt by "Small Club" and others.
I think it is good...but there are better stuff out there.

Its just that there really is no way possible to compare such lush and diversity as Lovesexy is, to a edit of an performance thats just mediocre.. hell, most tracks are crap.. the first 3 or 4 are good.. thats about it..

Lovesexy on the other hand is a masterpiece..

comparing the two is nearly impossible to the 'educated' fans of his music, and of music in general..

nice try tho, thanks for playing

I loved Joy in Rep, didn't care too much for the other tracks though. He killed Peach. ONE Live discs 1 + 2 were great though!

He killed Peach?

He actually brought life to it! Right on!

No Doubt. This was one tight ass CD. My girl heard it and was instantly like "Burn Me A Copy". This girl has been falling off the "Prince bus" since "Rave", but she was on this mutha. Played it at a cook out this summer when the sun had gone down and evrybody had got kinda of mello; everybody (and this was a straight "GHETTO" cook out in Baltimore) was like "TURN IT UP." Face it the CD is just COOL.

I know that you are young, but maybe you should dig a little deeper into the mastery of funk and you will find out that this CD includes some extremely tight tunes, while Lovesexy is an overproduced, bubble-gum pop experiment (whih I happen to like as well, but musically its very odd).

Honestly, Being young dont got a damn thing to do about it, but All in fareness, I figured u were some punk kid who dont know a thing about music, and now, Im not sure whats worse... evillol
Besides the first few tracks, that cd dont have shit on lovesexy, its a concert of edits, and it only has a few decent songs. I mean honestly, No one is denyin these live songs are "tight".. I think they are nice live songs, and they are up to par with Prince stadards, but there is no way possible that it could even be on the same page as lovesexy.
And the fact that u are placing this album that is pretty much amazing, to some shit of a concert where he swaps lyrics to pronounce he wont cuss, adding extra crowds in the songs, and the ending of that damn cd just floated off somewhere. Its comparing two different people in all honesty, and it would be considered an insult/musicical error for you to even think that album holds water to such an album...

Perhaps u should go "deeper in the funk" to see what ure calling "musically odd"
disbelief

I thought "It aint Over" was weak!

ONAL disc one and two are fun, but considering "It aint over" is the first official "aftershow" disc, he really picked bad tracks!

"It Aint Over" above "Gold"? ehh? Everyone to their own.

No essentially, but it might be one explanation for you not knowing what FUNK is all about...

but All in fareness, I figured u were some punk kid who dont know a thing about music, and now, Im not sure whats worse... evillol

Punk kid? lol Go back to sleep!

Besides the first few tracks, that cd dont have shit on

There is some weak shit on "It aint over", for example the version of "Alphabet Street" or the tunes with "Musiq" and George Clinton. But the versions of Girls and Boys, Peach, Dorothy Parker are extremely tight and well jammed funk grooves which have seriously impressed quite a few funk musicians I know.

I mean honestly, No one is denyin these live songs are "tight".. I think they are nice live songs, and they are up to par with Prince stadards, but there is no way possible that it could even be on the same page as lovesexy.

Lovesexy is a highly overproduced album (did you ever hear the original mixes? They are a lot better), with some weak material as well ("Eye wish you heaven", "Glam Slam", "When 2 r in love").
I have seen the Lovesexy show live back in `88, and I can assure you that the songs of that album sounded like crap played live (he did much better on them in rehearsals though).

And the fact that u are placing this album that is pretty much amazing, to some shit of a concert where he swaps lyrics to pronounce he wont cuss,

I dont buy albums to hear cussing, ya know

adding extra crowds in the songs, and the ending of that damn cd just floated off somewhere.

I wouldnt even need the crowds. Its about the band.

Its comparing two different people in all honesty, and it would be considered an insult/musicical error for you to even think that album holds water to such an album...

If you say so... rolleyes "Lovesexy" already sounds pretty dated, while "It aint over" is pretty much timeless...

Perhaps u should go "deeper in the funk" to see what ure calling "musically odd"
disbelief

I bet you that aint no way I'll be diggin deeper in the funk bro... I`m all about it!
