i can't imagine SOTT being tampered with at all. It would lose its 'flow' to me.

/me tries to find an imagination.

Anxiety

I'm glad it wasn't included, because my head would have exploded. As it was, I nearly had an aneurysm the first time I listened to SOTT...'Joy In Repetition' woulda sent me over the edge.

Why take anything off?

Joy In Repetition was on Sign O' The Times, when it was a
triple album called Crystal Ball. Or if you wanted to keep it
a double, you could still squeeze it on. Each disc is only
39-40 minutes long, and even vinyl albums can run to just
over 45 minutes without compromising the sound quality.

To squeeze Joy In Repetition onto Sign O' The Times, I'd
put it in place of Forever In My Life on disc 1, and move
Forever In My Life onto disc two after I Could Never Take
The Place Of Your Man.

My first choice would be to just ADD it because SOTT is perfect. If I had to take one off it would be Hot Thing.

It wouldn't fit it, all of SOTT sounds really sparse and JIR is quite layered and complex.

"It's Gonna B A Beautiful Night"

Never been crazy about that song, too long and boring. It
would have left enough room for two other songs.

Besides "Joy In Repetition" I always thought "Moviestar"
should have made it onto an album.

Fcuz, those two songs would probably not sound great when
they were back to back in the place of "IGBABN" but they
sure would fit on the album imo.

I love SOTT just the way it is.

The problem I have with "Graffiti Bridge" however,(and this has been covered over n over I'm sure) is that I prefer the original versions of

Joy In Repetiton
Can't Stop This Feeling I Got
We Can Funk

as well as

Data Bank on The Time's "Pandemonium" album and
Girl O' My Dreams (T.C. Ellis)

PRINCE's original 1986/87 versions kicked much more ass and will 4ever remain (in my opinion) immortalised on that bootleg "Chocolate Box" album.

Play in the Sunshine would have to go and JIR would have and should have been great on the SOTT. In would have made the album even more classic than it already is.

I'd remove the song "It's Gonna Be A Beautiful Night",a song which I consider to be filler anyway.
