Ah, right. Went & forgot the most famous ones! Better update my original message!
What do you get on the Sexy MF & Get Off vids? Is there any difference in the video from the ones on the '3 Chains Of Gold' and 'Diamonds & Pearls' vid? "You know, you're the classic example of the inverse ratio between the size of the mouth and the size of the brain"

All of these were first broadcast on television as 'programmes' with Prince subsequently releasing them on video: * Prince & The Revolution Live * Love Sexy 1 and * Love Sexy 2 - but in running order * Beautiful Strange * Rave Into The Year 2000 as well as: * The Beautiful Experience ALT+PLS+RTN: Pure as a pane of ice. It's a gift.

Is the "interview" video an official one? I can't remember the name of it, but it's the one where Prince criticises the Cat's shoes. And I think he plays The Ladder on it. Must've been filmed around the time they were putting together the Lovesexy tour.

I would include Sheila E.'s "Romance 1600 Live" since Prince & the Revolution show up at the end & do Love Bizarre . And dont forget the 06/07/86 Birthday gig in Detroit that was broadcast on TV.Both were directed by the same person who's name I can't remember at the moment... r u shittin me? Is this a joke at the expense of Love4oneanother or was there such a thing?[/quote] I think I just watched this. It starts with Prince singing Rock and Roll is Alive and lives in Minneapolis. It features a girl who is trying to get to meet Prince, she reckons she is his soulmate but he say's Mayte is. They keep ripping bits out of a dictionairy with definitions of stuff like fan and friend. Nona Gaye is in it too. It features the Gold video and The Ride and a hits compilation video and Days of Wild. [This message was edited Sat Sep 27 3:07:24 PDT 2003 by Sorcha]

A touch off topic, but I've just bought the Lovesign video (one of them ones they send out to TV stations etc.)
Anyway, it's a great song and a funky vid (Nona in the red leather ), but at the start it says Directed by Ice Cube! Is that true?

-the movie "Rookie Of The Year" (VHS/DVD/LD)
The only place where you can hear a few seconds of "You Got the Right One" (maybe the title is wrong) -Girl 6 (The Spike Lee film). With a extended version of "Girl 6" (VHS/LD / DVD?) -Batman (Tim Burton film, the first one). Instrumental versions of "The Future" and "Electric Chair". (VHS/LD/DVD) Almost all Prince videos are available in Laser Disc, this format have better sound quality than DVD, (DVD means compressed sound, LD is not compressed).

fms said: the beautiful experience was never released by npgmc. umm yes they did. it was a crappy vopy from asian TV. Many people bought this official item from NPGMC so I think it is funny you are saying it was never even released... The Sacrifice of Victor and The Beautiful Experience were both available from NPGMC in 2001 if I recall correctly. If you weren't able to order these before they sold out, you aren't missing much. They come in a plain white video cover with a white sticker on each video stating the name and running time. But the worst part is that they are both just recordings off of Japanese television! And at that time the descriptions for the videos did not include the part about them being from pay-per-view broadcasts. That part was conveniently added just in time for the videos to start arriving at our homes. Had they included those entire descriptions to begin with, nobody would have ordered them. So please tell me again they weren't released. Looks like you havent been around long boy [This message was edited Fri Oct 3 7:12:26 PDT 2003 by FunkyStrange] Hard to believe I've been on the org for over 25 years now!

The Joffrey Ballet video is pretty neat. They have 4 choreographers(sp) that interpret dance to Prince Music.
It took a long time to find this one, but I was able to obtain a copy and was amazed. It's pretty neat. Sometimes you can find copies at half.com (official releases). It's a little better than Ebay, because the prices are fixed. Good luck on your quest. **************************************************
